Jody Breeze - Welcome to the Future
Artist: Jody Breeze
Producer: Jimmy L
Album: Welcome to the Future Mixtape
Label: Young Gunna Records
Forecasting the direction history and technology will take in years to come has always been a dicey prospect, with predictions more often than not turning out to be flat-out wrong – I mean, weren’t we supposed to have flying cars by now? In any case, you won’t find any wild-eyed speculation of that sort on Welcome to the Future, the latest single and mixtape title track from Jody Breeze. Here, the banging brass boardwork of Jimmy L. sets a triumphant mood as the Georgia native describes a brighter tomorrow that’s like today in every respect save one: Jody Breeze is even more fresh, flashy and fly than he is at the present time. And that’s the kind of change we can all believe in – right, Booth readers? If you agree that the vision of utopia Breeze describes on this street scorcher is worth striving for, you can accompany the Young Gunna up-and-comer as he ushers in a brave, new era of whips, weed and expensive clothes on – you guessed it – April 20 (a.k.a. 4/20), when Welcome to the Future (the mixtape) hits the ‘net for free download.

For the longest time I was a huge fan of Jody Breeze, but after failing to get his debut album officially released and always "going missing" at months at a time I kind of gave up on him. Don't get me wrong - I still believe in his talent. However, my expectations have been lowered considerably. On "Welcome to Future," Breeze does not to really get me excited again. We shall see.

Jody could of been as big as Jeezy if he would of gotten his debut out. Now his career has faded away which is sad since he has a lot of talent. Even sadder is that this song dosen't show it or has me wanting any music of his in the future.

I don't know, maybe it's because I'm just in the right mood, but I think I was digging this more than the dude's above me. I'm not saying it's incredible, but it's an enjoyable rider. Has a certain guilty pleasure potential.

The beat is all heard it before in EXACT form. And verses, well, lets say they have no purpose for existing other than to fill out the space between hook.

Sound like an entrance song Mayweather would use for one of his fights.
