Remember the days when every time you turned around (I hate that expression, but it applies here) there would be a new Dipset mixtape? Cam’ron and his how Diplomat crew brought the public enough freestyle slash f**k-around-in-the-studio music to feed an entire country’s worth of fans. Nowadays? Killa has been in semi-hiding, Jim Jones only seems to be concerned with dissing Jay-Z and forgotten completely are the individual talents of Juelz Santana. Here to remind us that they are still capable of f**king around in a studio, Jones and Santana are joined by fellow Byrdgang member, NOE, for the x-rated mixtape cut, Splash. No further explanation necessary..
NOE is really sick in my opinion. He sounds like Jay-Z but it is a HUNGRY and YOUNG Jay-z...look him up on youtube! The beat on this track is kinda average to me; but its a mixtape joint so it is what it is. Jim Jones rocks on this with his normal laid back flow and it works on here. Juelz is like the most talented on Dipset right now (before Max B left). He lays it down the best on this track. NOE KILLS it too! He seals the deal on the track at the end. This is a Banger!
I've always been a fan of Jim Jones, and this track doesn't disappoint, but i find it hard to compare Jones to other artists cuz of the way he like.. 'gaps' his flow.. if anyone understands what im getting at? anyways.. the horns and beat are nice.. lol and Juelz' flossy flossy intro is jokes
Beat is sorta generic and cliche. Jim Jones is interesting, nothing real special though. Juelz is a semi-beast on this. LOL. MAN. OH MY GOSH! NOE does sound like Jay! Are you serious! If not one said anything, I could've truly believed it was him.
I have no idea how Jim Jones inked a record deal like the one he got...His flow NEVER changes, and it is NOT a good flow either...He gets on and his tempo does not match any beats he's on, and his talking throughout EVERY verse he does drives me crazy...VROOM VROOM...shut up and let juelz shine and just quit rappin'
Jim Jones flow always does it for me. Always so laid back. Juelz jus havin fun wit this one for sure. ha. And NOE sure in the hell does sound like Jay.
Use to make it rain, now we just make it Splash....this track is hott. Better than him and Julez's Stackin Money. Jimmy rips it wit his hardcore swagga, Santana does what he does best, himself, and NOE is fire, neva heard of him b4, but definatly will be lookin out 4 him!!!
If you guys want more NOE, go check out mixtapes: Members of Byrdgang and harlem's american gangsta and some older Max B mixtapes like Billion Dollar Baby.
come on yall. NYC is not putting out quality stuff. sure, makin it splash is a cool concept, but y waste it on this song? on a mixtape? wit Dipset? even if this wasn't a mixtape cut, this song is a joke. the beat has potential, but that's it. potential. people keep wonderin why the south is so popular, just listen to this song. it attempts to be hard, but it just sounds phony to me.
This is a real decent right here....beat is ok, this to me is one of those rare occasions when the verses actually out shine the hook, Jimmy brung it on here....Juelz smashed it......and it is scary how much this NOE dude sound like Jay-Z and like most I havent heard of him but I will keep an ear out...real curious to hear more from him to see if he is consistent
Damn Jim! U r not reppin NYC @ all wit dis joint! Wit dis sh*t NYC should miss claim u. Juelz does his thing, n so does NOE. So Thankx 2 those 2 NYC is in da buildin! Since Jim really f*cked up dis song It jus gets a 3.
For the last time, I don't feel dipset @*#$! at all...
Juelz, Jim, Cam'ron ...they feel off really badly...
They need to come up with something extraordinary to get me back =)
The beginning of the first verse was a mess in my opinion. NOE is pretty decent (I checked out his myspace and he's got some good stuff on there). Overall though, this song is aight...2.5
Juelz kills it..he is always and will always be da best rapper out of dipset..he's my 2nd best rapper up north behind jay-z, and top 10 world-wide..but, the beat is average it could've been better, J.Jones is comin along and did jay-z change his name to NOE...i give it 3 only because of juelz, the beat, and of da concept
santana saved this song from jim jones n the beat he put on it. just not feelin the beat at all, so i couldnt really see me bangin this at the house or club, but u got them dipset groupies out thier dat will love it no matter wat. and is it me or did noe just steal jay-z voice and style. i think noe owe jay-z a big check. but i cant see anyone other then dipset fans rocking this song 2 out of 5. good save santana
