Even those who Stand Alone can benefit from a few good connects—case in point: up-and-coming producer Jet Audio, whose latest leak finds him joining forces with with not one, two, or three, but four of the underground scene’s hottest talents.  Continuing in the laid-back vein of his last feature, Jet delivers a head-bobbing mix of old-school instrumentation and spacey synth ambiance as fellow NYC natives CurT@!n$, Danny and Mickey Factz deliver dreamy bars brimming with allusive punchline lyricism.  Of course, no jazzy, nostalgia-tinted cut centered around the theme of lone-wolf individualism would be complete without the distinctive vocal stylings of a certain Big Apple emcee/singer—though Outasight devotees might be disappointed that the emcee doesn’t step up to the mic for a guest verse, his mellow sung hook complements Jet Audio’s boardwork just as well as you’d expect.  Jet Audio’s ability to bring old and new-school heads together is clearer here than ever before, and Stand Alone‘s retro feel may win the beatsmith his best Booth reviews to date.  For more fresh beats and underground rhymes, pick up a copy of Jet’s Stand Alone Complex LP when it drops on the 21st.

I agree 100% wit Z: this man has some talent on the boards. It's so wierd that I think old school and new school at the exact same time, and I can't really distinguish between the two. It just meshes so well... These are great emcees to spit over this type of material as well. Mickey was the most impressive to me: his imagery mixed wit his flow and vocal tone fit this beat perfectly.

Nice collection of emcees here. I would have liked to hear Outasight do a verse.

DJBooth, are you guys going to feature a Danny solo record? Never heard of him before.

Lots of producers utilize layering but Jet Audio manages to craft a production here that will leave you slack-jawed, I really can't say enough .... A very soft and airy affair with a chorus that's outright beautiful. As for the rhymes, the quality level never drops ... 4.5
