Jessica Jarrell may not be old enough to drive, but don’t get it twisted; as demonstrated by her first feature, the teenage Los Angeles singer/songwriter’s ready, willing and able to do what it takes to get her musical career Up and Running. On the latest single off J.J.‘s forthcoming debut (presented here in officially remixed form), The Runners’ sugary, synth-driven production sets a pop-appealing mood as the singer expresses her high relationship standards by way of vehicular metaphors. Gym Class Hero-turned-solo rap superstar Travie McCoy handles guest duties, lacing the record’s front end with a little G-rated game-spitting and ending the cut by encouraging anyone with a cup (of soda, naturally) to party till the sun comes up. While Jessica Jarrell’s debut studio album has yet to receive a title or a solid release date from the Island/Mercury brass, those who like what they’re hearing can currently catch her on the My World tour, opening for pint-sized pop superstar Justin Bieber and the not-so-pint-sized (but still quite popular) Sean Kingston.

Kudos to The Runners, who have plenty of pop appeal to offer Jessica on this remixed single. While her vocals - to be honest - are a dime a dozen, the overall appeal of the record is obvious and it shouldn't struggle to find a home at radio or in the iPods of girls 12-21.

Nice track right here. She's defintely got alot of potential. Like "deezy" said Travie adds nothing to the track tho.

I hear so much of Rihanna in Jessica's voice, and it took me back to "Pon de Replay," how successful it was, and how successful Rihanna has been since.
If Jessica gets some heavy airplay I wouldn't doubt her career would skyrocket; the flavor *is* a little bland only because the same pop formula is used so often, but if she were ever given an opportunity to display her full talent, she and Bieber could be the next Britney and JT. |

Sounds like a young Rihanna to me, which isn't a bad thing as far as pop music's concerned. Rihanna's definitely opened some doors, and props to Jessica for walking through it.

I have to agree with DJ Z, her vocals aren't much to rave about, But overall it has the potential to be a top 40 hit. It pops it's upbeat and it's catchy.
