Absent from the Booth since September 2008, when he introduced himself with the reader-approved Rain (Remix), Jeremy Greene has gone through some setbacks of late; formerly signed to Bad Boy and the now-defunct MySpace Records, he is currently a free agent (though the word is that he’s being courted by YMCMB and Sony). Of course, he’s not about to let anything stop him from climbing ever Higher in the game. On the Winslow, Maine singer/songwriter’s latest mixtape leak/promo single, a characteristically dancefloor-scorching beat by David Guetta sets the mood as Greene waxes ambitious, expressing his determination to surmount whatever setbacks life may throw his way. Fans can find Higher and much more on Greene’s Paper Planes street album, available for free download as of last week.

First time hearing Jeremy Greene. He has a nice voice; sounds like a mishmash of Usher and Chris Brown. This is catchy, and could do well on a Top 40. Also, does anyone else think this sounds much like Guetta's "When Love Takes Over"? Anyone? Anyone?

He's really channeling Usher on this one, but I'm kinda tired of this type of track unless it changes up a bit. This will go hard in the club or bar, but that's where I'll leave it.
