Jeremih - Raindrops
Artist: Jeremih
Producer: Mick Schultz
Album: Def Jam Album Sampler
Label: Def Jam/IDJMG
In addition to topping our Top Picks chart for six straight weeks (tied with Drake, Weezy, & Bun‘s Uptown for the Booth record), R&B phenom Jeremih‘s smash hit single Birthday Sex recently climbed to the #9 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, knocking Jamie Foxx & T-Pain‘s Blame It off its fourteen-week pedestal. Riding high off this string of unexpected successes, the Chi-Town native is currently meeting with his label team and manager/producer Mick Schultz to select an equally appealing follow-up. Set for inclusion on a Def Jam album sampler (out now at select stores), one of the leading contenders sees Shultz providing a Timbo-esque beat as Jeremih and his special lady make some Raindrops together. Why isn’t the guest rapper credited? Well, Jeremih is that rapper, and his solid verse on the back end may leave listeners wondering if he’ll be doing any emceeing on his forthcoming debut album. For the answer to this question and many more, check back with us next month, when Jeremih will step into the Booth for an exclusive interview.

im a huge fan of Jeremih he's the future of r&b. Im not quite feeling this track as much as I hoped to, but its still solid 4. He gets the job done, great production not going to be as big as birthday sex, but still good.

Amongst my Chicago tastemakers (shouts to MoonDawg), RAINDROPS is the record we are all talking about. This COULD BE problem if green lit for a single.
DJBooth was the first site to feature "Birthday Sex," so its only natural that we continue to support this talented young man. Interview coming soon... |

His melodies are nothing special on this track or on birthday sex, but wit his lyrics he finds a way to create hits. This track has potential to become a hit, because of the catchy hook and lyrics. His vocals are OK and the production is average, but this track is obviously worthy of some spins.

I definitely think he has a bright future, like DJ Kylz said. I thought he could have come a little harder though. I wasn't feeling his flow too much, but maybe it's just a little too slow for me. His rap verse was cool though.

Not as good as Birthday Sex, but solid nonetheless. We should hear more rapping from him, something like his contribution on "My Time" by Fabolous.

The production is nice and slow and his vocals are pretty good on here. Just lacking the sound to make it a big-time hit. In rotation

Juanito_88, always makin the reviews easier... ;) co-sign fam!
Special props for the percussion (it's HOT, yeah Timbo level) and for Jeremih basically carrying the verses on his own. It's funny that his rap was actually better than what a LOT of mainstream rappers (but wack, nonetheless) could pull off. I like this better than "Birthday sex", but that's not sayin much, cuz I didn't get in that bandwagon... |

Man, this cat IS the future of hip hop just like I said "The Dream" was when he came in the game. The production is always on point and this is going to be just as great as a hit as "Birthday Sex" is. He needs to get a video out and get cracking! Mick Schultz snapped on this production.
Definitely a banger going straight to the IPOD. I want to do an R&B style record for the album and I guarantee it would sound more like this than some other cliche, carbon-copy T-Pain song. That rap was dope. Definitely better than Plies or any other wack rapper I can name who tries the R&B rap flow (excluding FAB). Classic in my opinion. I give it 4.5, so why not go ahead and round up? |

Dude can't miss. Birthday Sex, a killer hook and bridge on Fabo's It's My Time, and now Raindrops. Three for three
LIke MH said, who needs a d-list rapper when the likes of Drake, Novel, and Jeremih are coming up in the game. Diverse talents and fly production equal banger status. |

Pleasantly surprised because I honestly thought he'd be gone after Birthday Sex. Mike Schultz and Jeremih both did an amazing job creating this.

Say hello to the next big name in R&B
I was shocked to hear that the guy could actually rap pretty well, I wasnt expecting that on this track. The production was tight. THIS WILL BE A HIT 4.5 (I'll round down since MH rounded up) |

Hmm... I must admit this kidd is HOT, he's definetly got next in R&B fo' sho'!!!
-Lyrics Very good topic in a song provided with a beat like this I must say, his style in singing is very relaxing with a smooth melody. However I doubt that he writes his lyrics (or even the majority) but I don't knock that cause a good song is a good song regardless (but it also takes away from being an even greater artist :~...)! Production I love the mid-tempo Timbaland type sound this got going on, I'm sure his album will be full of bedroom-boom material like this lol. Overall This is actually something I can put on repeat and that's a RARE occasion when it comes to R&B for me (Yes, if anybody doesn't know by now, I'm very picky person when it comes to music)! And I'm convinced to actually check out his album when it comes out. He seems to be the replacement for J. Holiday so that's always a good thing ;)... But unfortunately, not living up to the standard's of "Birthday Sex" which I would give a 4.5, I'mma give this song a 3.5, Nice work, can't wait to hear nore from him soon! |

Lil Majer - I like the review style.
This track is going to blow just like BDAY Sex did. I can just see all the girls singing it in their honda civics. This one is also ripe for a club mix that would serious play by DJs. Who knew he could rap? Pretty good. The beat is a banger, its close to Timbo's level. |

@bowserr....usually i agree 100% with what you say, but most of his audience are the ladies. Hes very good but i dont think he will surpass anyone, he might be on the same level as some of the bigger R&B artists. But not BETTER.
Still very good tho. |

With Fredrico on this one. His lyrics and singing is what gets it going. But there was a def Timbo feel here.
I don't why he rapped, it was pretty random. That being said I am yet to get on this bandwagon as I did with K. Sparks |
