The celebration of a birthday is widely associated with three things: presents, a birthday dinner, and a cake (with candles, of course). Upstart singer/songwriter Jeremih, however, sees things a little differently – the Chicago native is all about giving his special someone a little Birthday Sex. Taking a page out of The-Dream and Tricky Stewart’s musical playbook, Jeremih and his producer Mick Schultz follow a sonic formula that has been a staple at radio since Rihanna’s Umbrella first opened. Thanks to a large buzz in his home city, Birthday Sex has already received spins on Chicago’s Power 92 (WPWX), and has industry tastemakers abuzz. With performances scheduled through the New Year, Jeremih plans to stay busy until his currently-untitled debut drops next spring.

 That little thing he does to his voice at the end of each line is annoying to me when he stretch out the word. The beat is average but the hook needs work. This def a good slow jam but nothing special

I actually liked the little thing at the end of each line...but I can understand how could get annoying. It reminds me of that line from Lenny Williams (Girl...you now, I, I, I, I...love you) I feel dude has real good vocal presence and everything on this joint is crispy and on point from the production to the vocals and the swagger.

I knew I was going to like this just by the title! This hella SEXy so ya know Imma be diggin it. Nice beat and nice voice. However, the little thing he does with his voice after those couple words might get annoying in the future. It's a 3.5 but I'm going to rate up to a four.

I like his melody here. IIII! I dig. We all like some Birthday Sex from our significant others. Don't front. Beat is not quite as strong as I'd like it to be. I can hear a lil Dream and Kellz in his style here.

i was wondering how this song was overlooked.. i dont listen to the radio.. all the songs i hear, i get from DJBOOTH, RNBX, and WWUM. I turn on the radio for the FIRST TIME in idk how long, and THIS was on, i was SO MAD i hadnt gotten it yet. I mean, midwest always go hard, i need 2 check the radio lol.

The production on this song is similar to that of Bed by J Holiday...I don't know if the producer is the same! Anyway I agree with E-Dub, this song needs re-work...it's a nice slow song but nothing special in my opinion! Beat could be better and his voice is weak. I hate it when he says girl u know a a a a! This is a great song. I have been listening to it none stop. It is amazing. It's like an addiction. Deffinitely in my top 10 hits of the Winter Season. You should also check out Ms. Robot by Xplicit. That's a very creative song.
