Jennifer Lopez - Starting Over
Artist: Jennifer Lopez
Producer: Danja
Album: Love?
Label: 2101/Capitol
Don’t be fooled by the upbeat sound of Jennifer Lopez‘s new Danja-produced single Starting Over - as the title suggests, the subject of the song centers around the dissolution of her marriage to fellow entertainer Marc Anthony. In a similar tone to Mariah Carey’s Breakdown, Lopez delivers a heartfelt account of the range of emotions that undoubtedly accompany a failed relationship. Breaking up with someone you love is never an easy thing to do, and Starting Over is sure to strike a chord with anyone who thought they had The One, only to lose it all. Subject matter aside, its pulsing drums, rhythmic claps and driving synths are sure to make you want to move - I foresee this being the subject of many club DJ remixes and becoming a late official “Summer 2011” jam that will make you reminisce about good times, even if it IS about some pretty bad times for J Lo.

J Lo needs to work with polow da don or someone else, I love Danja Handz but I'm not feeling this track, its so old sounding. 2011's Audio mixes need better mixes, mixes like Kelly Rowland's "Motivation" and I'm not a critic, I'm just saying, people want to feel the music, especially music like this, you have to allow the mix to place the listener in his or her own world. Where's the million dollar sonic quality? And it has decent words, but I'm not feeling it like I should.

Very poppy but despite that it is an okay song lyrically. Sonically its okay too. This song is definitely going to be in heavy rotation...especially after new of her incoming divorce

Tough ratings on this one. Best song from her upcoming album no. But is it garbage? Hell no.

Hate it. A how dare you compare this to BREAKDOWN? They are nothing alike, musically or lyrically. Breakdown is miles superior to this pop crap.

It sounds too forced, like she was trying to be someone else.
