Soon after winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls, anticipation quickly built for R&B singer/actress Jennifer Hudson‘s upcoming debut album (for which we featured her buzz single collabo with Papoose, Special). So, J-Hud got back to work on the album, but with a new slew of A-list assistants. Now this is more like it. I don't know what that bullcrap single she put out with Papoose, but this right here is the real Jennifer Hudson. This is a hit. Production is very crispy, vocals are great and Ne-Yo did his thing. 5 Stars!
Wow. Ive been waiting for an album and an actual song from Jennifer Hudson for a while, even though she's been winning all these awards without doing either of the 2! This woman can sing, this song shows her great vocal ability and the team of Ne-Yo and Stargate make this song really really nice.
Jennifer Hudson is a jewel. Her voice is powerful but it still glides effortlessly over the music. I'm a huge "American Idol" fan and it's always great to see past contestants doing big things. Ne-Yo and Stategate have proven to be a deadly combo! We got a banger right hurr.

This is pretty hot! Stargate has taken their production to the next level with songs like this and Ne-Yo's "Closer" track. Jennifer Hudson is undeniably a great singer, but sometimes I wonder if she can handle the power of her own voice. I think it can make her or break her. I guess we wont kno for sure until the album comes out tho.

The lyrics are strong (props to neyo), and the production is right on point (stargate as always). Hudson delivers on this track with her strong vocals. Was never a big fan, but willing im anticipating her next track.
Let me first off address this for the silly person who said that didn't think actresses could sing: Jennifer Hudson was a singer first. In addition, the movie she was in was a "musical". C'mon now. Pay attention people.

I've read her album is suppose to be a blend of different styles of music. So all you R&B/Soul heads may be in for a surprise. She seem like an artist who would do an album full of ballads so this should be intresting.

I absolutely love Jennifer...This song is HOT!!! It feels like I as well as a lot of others fans have been waiting decades for her release. But I can say that it's been well worth the wait. I'm so proud of Jennifer, she has really come along way. I can't wait to get the full length CD on September 30th.
Spotlight is available NOW on iTunes!!!!! I brought it yesterday, and can not stop listening to it.
