Doesn’t it seem like every rapper, even the ones with millions of adoring fans, believe the world is against them? Like Michael Jordan did throughout his entire NBA career, artists today have a tendency to make up imaginary slights, which they foster in order to add fuel to their competitive fire. Whether real or imaged, DJBooth Freestyle alum Jeff Chery strongly believes that his followers continue to have their reservations about his ability to truly excel. New premiere Doubt Me, the latest leak off his forthcoming Booth-sponsored release The Transition, finds Chery doing the same two-step as recent feature artists J. Cole (see Blow Up) and Pill (the other Blow Up), and again proving that he’s more than up to the task when it comes to putting in work on the mic. Joining the emcee over producer Kalaj Dame‘s moving beat is Brooklyn native Curt@!n$, who echoes the headliners strong sentiments on a less-than-desirable middle verse. Doubt Me is one of 17 brand new songs that will appear on the aforementioned The Transition, which is currently scheduled for free download at DJBooth on October 19.

We've all probably heard better from Chery (check his profile page for proof), but there isn't much to dislike here (expect for maybe that guest verse - sorry, CurT@!n$). The production is really moving and Chery's left of center delivery and cadence make every listen an event (you cannot casually listen to this man's material).

This track was pretty descent, but I would have liked to hear a little more intensity on a track like this. CurT@!n$' verse wasn't bad, per se, it just felt a bit out of place on this track and may have worked better somewhere else.

Overall I thought the song was decent. Jeff chery did a good job on his verse, but I think a feature for the hook would have worked better. Curtains wasn't bad, I agree with everyone else though, his verse did seem out of place. 3.5

Another Chery record, more proof that he's one of the more solider emcees out there. Every bars foundational, unshakable; I find it hard to believe that many people are really doubting him at this point.
Anyone else think the hook could use some work though?

The hook ro me isn't the tracks undoing, its the guest vxerse here. He didnt fit the mood of this track at all.
