This past February, DJBooth featured Jean Grae‘s new single, Love Thirst. Three months later, a remix has arrived with Busta Rhymes, who is hoping to quench even more of that thirst. Toning down his typically fast-paced flow, Busta complements Jean’s aphrodisiac tone (her spoken-word cadence is more soothing than other femcees) and 9th Wonder‘s equally fitting beat, adding mainstream appeal to Grae’s “conscious rap fan” audience. Either way, Love Thirst is the perfect choice for anyone in the mood for “chill” music. Jeanius, Grae’s highly-anticipated new album, drops later this month off Talib Kweli’s Blacksmith Records and their distributor, Warner Bros.
Nothing too special about this one here. Busta brings a pretty solid guest spot, but the beat is just ok and her voice isn't amazing or anything. Not bad though.
Jeanius's vibe on the production is awesome. I like this from Busta. Better than some of his new stuff (other than the LP collab). Reminds me of '03 Busta. Jean Grae did her thing as well on thie vocals and stuff. I can really dig it. Her flow was smooth. I don't really like her usually, but she put it in on this joint
Busta is the real Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. You never know what to expect: the rowdy, wild performer or the mellow, smooth artist. Anyhow, he drops it like a cannon ball from the sky. Jean Grae did alright. Not a true remix but a feature.
I like this right here. Its smooth as a mofo. Kinda dated for this era, but that is NOT a bad thing in my book. Busta is solid on here.I hope Grae kinda faded as far as flow, but she sounded really nice on the hook. Nice song
This is one of those "Damn, I wish Busta was spittin' faster on the -- wait, this actually works" kind-of-songs. On a side note, if I get Jean on the phone for an interview, she needs to explain what the deal is with the baseball bats in the promo photos...
What was up with the little baseball bat. Is she supposed to be hardcore. LOL!!!
But this track is ill. Busta laced it like a fresh pair of low cut AF1s
