The response to Ms. “Cross me and I will bust your windows” Jazmine Sullivan’s latest song Holding You Down (Goin’ in Circles) has been overwhelmingly positive – DJBooth nation gave it four stars – so you know that that means, right? Yep, a Swizz Beatz remix! And you know what that means, right? Yep, although Swizz holds true to the original’s old-school sample base, we’re now treated to the occasional air horn blast, looped percussion and shouted ad-lib. I can’t help but feel like it’s a step in the wrong direction, but the inclusion of the immortal Mary J. Blige is more than enough to make up for it. It’s amazing to hear the woman who set the foundation for the modern wronged-woman R&B ballad and one of young female r&b’s brightest hopes on the same track. This is truly a historic occasion. But will the Booth hold down the remix as strongly as they did the original? We’ll find out soon. Regardless, fans should be on the lookout for Sullivan’s upcoming album Love Me Back, coming October 5.

Who is more annoying when it comes to letting you know that you're listening to a remix - Diddy or Swizzy? I say Diddy, but Swizzy isn't trailing him by much. With that said, I totally dig this record. Its a bridging the gap song, if you will.
If Jazmine follows in MJB's footsteps, she will have a long and very successful career.

I just wish that people would stop letting Swizz on their tracks, he just kills songs. Luckily he didn’t manage to destroy this song to much as Jazmine and Mary take full control.

Why is Swizz on here? What does he possibly add besides his name?
Annoying, but as I laid out in the intro, I'm not going to get all salty when Mary J shows up and sings so beautifully. This track, the original and the remix, is easily one of the year's best already.

Wow it sounds more like a Mary and swizz joint even though its the remix! It starts off crazy but the changes throw me off a little. The ending is headcrack also

So we add Mary J's voice & touch, which I love... but Swizz's unnecessary ad-libbing?? Distracting & takes away from the track. If he cut that down a bit (well actually A LOT) this remix would be much hotter - I mean how can you go wrong with Jazmine Sullivan & Mary J Blige?
