When Jazmine Sullivan decided to christen her debut album Fearless, it was perhaps the most fitting name she could have chosen. After all, several of the 21-year-old Philly native’s songs cover topics that the vast majority of mainstream artists wouldn’t touch with a 21-foot pole. Since the album’s first track and second single, Bust Your Windows, is one of the more audacious songs, who better to choose for a remix than one of the most audacious MC’s around? Mr. Rap-Up himself, Skillz, joins Sullivan, contributing his trademark wit to the record. In the end, the Virginia native gets the last laugh, remembering that he still has a key to her house. Fearless is available now via J Records.
Burmy told me about this song this past weekend. I think it's an awesome remix. Skillz really held it down with clever, comedic lyrical lines. I almost say this is better than the original. I will have to say though, I like Trey's version better than both this and the original.
I loved the original - despite Jazmine NOT telling me if she did indeed BUST the windows of a car before - but this remix is even better. Skillz was the perfect emcee to join her and the two of them go great. If you haven't checked out FEARLESS, I'm not sure what you're waiting for...
The album is pretty hot, heard it last week. This was one of the weaker songs on the album thogh in my opinion, and Im sure almost everyone dissagrees with me. I just can't get with the repetiveness and the production. This remix is a lot better though because I am a big fan of Skillz. He does it big on here, so it gets a 3 from me.
This was cleaver. Skillz brought something fresh to a song that was already cold as a mf. Her voice is so strong. I would love to hear her do a duet with beyonce or Jennifer Hudson. That would be serious.
This is better than the original, but I still wouldn't listen to it again. It's a good song and I appreciate the "old" feel in it, but it's just that it bores me...It reminds me of some songs by Christina Aguilera, in her last album she had songs like this, with the same music, and she sings also similarly. It's in rotation, the music is really good and she's talented
this a fun song yo..kinda annoyin' tho that they couldn't get a better person to rap on this joint then some corny dude soundin like sir mix alot and shyt
Saw this on DJ Astro's top rated songs so I went ahead and checked it out. It's kind of funny with skills being on here. Haven't heard the Trey Songs version, but I have to go against the grain the I like the original version, because you can turn that on and your man come in the house like "what I do now" LOL! 3 stars for the added comedy~(**)~
