The big band is out and behind Hova as the world is privy to a second listen off Jay’s forthcoming album, American Gangster. Following the Pharrell collabo, Blue Magic, comes the Blueprint-era guaranteed-hit, Roc Boys (And The Winner Is...). The promise of the project is that it will be inspired, in full, from the upcoming film of the same name. Well, Roc Boys oozes confidence, swagger and pride; it doesn’t get more gangster than that. “You don’t even got to bring your paper out / we the dope boys of the year, drinks is on the house.”
Hovaaaa! Hovaaaa! Hovaaaa! Man, Hov is hitting in hard with this album. The production is banging and the lyrics are street yet still keeping that pop feel. I'm feeling the hook and the horns are surreal. American Gangster is definitely not going to be that Kingdom Come garbage.
just cant feel it, my bad, and i say my bad cos most of yall think that hov is such a legend. dont hate me for writing this, but i just cant get down with this...its like pop rap, he needs those crucial lyrical songs again, 99 problems, now thats a hit. oh and the guy sayin 'we in the house' sounds absolutely battered.
I am surprised...This is actually a weak song coming from Jay. He is better than this, and the new album better be better than this track. I am getting tired of hearing him over live band beats...
It's ok and I LUV Jay but I agree with blkgotti... He did on Blue Magic. this is more or less like an album filler for Jay. ~from the mind of a great FEMALE^^ Ms~DjRoyale
This track so fits the new current Jay-z
Not big on the Jay-z ever since Roc La Familia or Vol 3
Beat is tight and does sound like something Kanye would put forth, good call.
I THINK JAY KILLED THIS BEAT. HES NOT AFRAID TO BE DIFFERANT AND YOU COULD TELL HE HAS EXPERIENCE IN THE DOPE GAME AND HE SHOULDN'T BE TAKLKIN ABOUT IT LIKE THAT IN HIS MUSIC
