On March 22, the King of New York (Jay-Z) and the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul (Mary J. Blige) will kick off their groundbreaking “Heart of the City” tour in Miami, Florida. In honor of this monumental event, the DJBooth is proud to present a brand-new collaboration between these two living legends. Set to be used as the show finale, Hova and MJB acknowledge the fan support they’ve received throughout the years with a heartfelt You’re Welcome. Tagging along to hype-up the crowd, Swizz Beatz encourages fans to wave their hands in the air, while the strains of The Individuals‘ hauntingly beautiful piano production fill the atmosphere with excitement. If you think You’re Welcome is a classic through computer speakers, make sure to buy tickets when the tour stops in your town!
I heard this track on Hot 97 a couple of weeks ago and I wondered where it came from. Now I know! Thanks Burmy! This track is on FIRE right here. I am not a big Jay-Z fan, but when he does his thing; he does it big. He delivers on this track with a hungry flow and mary is as smooth as ever. The production from Swizzy is ridiculous!
Wow, like I said on another review Jay always brings his best. I espec. love what he does with this one. Add in a little Mary J and a touch of Swizz and you got yourself a classic IMO.
very nice smooth song. nice flow from jay, mary does a very good job, great beat, swizzy. thats a classic combo right here. best rapper alive at his best. mayn i can't stop listening to this song. CLASSIC
Wow...4 straight perfect ratings to open up with. Gotta continue the streak.
CLASSIC-can't wait for the tour. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop in Milwaukee from what I've heard...Hopefully the tour makes a stop in Chicago so Z can get the chance to review when he goes there (P.S. Happy Casmir Pulaski Day everyone!)
When I saw 'Jay-Z & Mary J. Blige' together, I knew without a doubt that the track would be amazing. Jay-Z gets better and better every year that he's around (I'm a big fan). And Mary J was fantastic on this track, she didn't 'oversing' her parts (where I've noticed she's been doing that on some of her recent songs). The beat is filled with a variety of instruments; a very appreciated deviation from the standard synth beats. Beautiful track, and the tour is going to be spectacular.
Jay has sold out tours on his own; MJB has sold our tours on her own. So, what happens when you put them together? You charge double and sell our tours!
wow...two of the best at their finest...they gonna be in philly soon..a new age bonnie and clyde gonna rip the game and destroy the US with this tour!!..
Really, really happy right now. First off, this song is amazing. I love everybit of it. Second off, Akon dropped "I Can't Wait". Really, really, really freakin' happy.
MuzzieBoi, Akon didn't actually drop "I Can't Wait." The label is not pushing it as a single, but the video that he shot for it was released. You won't be hearing it plastered over radio or video, but, you might just get it on DJBooth!
Ah, I thought he did because he said there'd be one more single for Konvicted before he seals off the albun. He said that'd be "Never Took The Time", though. I wouldn't be surprise if he leaves Konvicted as is and continues to work with Ray-L and the other up-coming konvict artists. 2008 has already kicked off with a decent start with a lot of high rated songs, specifically in these last few days, so I don't know what to expect next.
I think this record his HOT, Jay-Z comin with some good lyrics on this joint, and Mary J is also doin her thing on this record. This is a nice combination on a great record
Classic joint right here 2 legends on the same track almost always works. Beat was nice,Jay brought the flow and Mary wit that soul add a little Swizzy and this joint is fire.
WOW!!, I could tell that was not your type of track. You'd rather hear Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, and Gucci Mane team up for a tour. Sorry, but most of us have respect for the legends.
...yep ur right M. Burmy, i would like 2 hear all those people on a tour...but i neva said i didnt have "respect" for JAY Z, MARRY, AND SWIZZ...which iz total-e DIFFERENT from not liking da song.
THIS IS A CLASSIC TO FOR ME. MARY'S ON IT YOU KNOW IT'S FIRE YOU HEAR THAT... I LIKE THIS SONG IT LEAVES WANTING TO HEAR THE NEXT TRACK THEN THE NEXT AND THE NEXT AND SO ON... IT'S NOT A SINGLE LIKE THEIR TRYIN' TO MAKE IT IT'S MORE OF AN ALBUM JOINT LEADING UNTO THE NEXT. SWIZZY THIS BEAT IS BANGING AS USUAL THERE IS NO MISTAKING A SWIZZY BEAT AT ALL.
