On January 16, Fox Searchlight Pictures will release Notorious, the much-anticipated biopic of the late Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace. Three days prior to its nationwide opening, an official motion picture soundtrack will be released (courtesy of Biggie’s label, Bad Boy Records), which will feature the new Jay-Z and Santogold-helmed single, Brooklyn (Go Hard). The record, reportedly also set to be included on Jigga’s forthcoming Blueprint 3 album, finds both Brooklynites explaining what their city has meant to their careers and why nowhere else in the world could compare. Produced by Kanye West, Brooklyn (Go Hard) is assisted by a sample from Santogold’s Shove It and an epically hollow bassline. So, does Hova do his close friend and birthplace justice?

Heard this earlier today, and my first thoughts were- damn, another solid production from Kanye to Hov! Kanye must not be needing these kinds of beats right now with his 808 phase, so why not give them all to Jigga? I really like the way this one flows and it gets me hyped for that Biggie movie! 3/5 for me but easily worth rotation.

Once again, great production from Kanye. This sounds like it will go great with "Notorious" I actually believe that this is the best song I've heard off of B3 so far.

I've bought every Jay album- I'm a huge fan. But this SUCKS! What was the Lupe-esque accent for? The lyrics were weak, I dare to say that if BP3 isn't amazing, Jay-Z is done for.

3.5. I love the production on this one.. but I'm not so sure about Jay's flows lately. It sounds like he might be losing his touch. I'm sure this will grow on me.. and I'm definetely looking forward to hearing the rest of this soundtrack as well as The Blueprint 3.

I don't care what a hater say...this beat is NUTS! Jay gave a classic flow over this! I'm excited about BP3. I think it's going to be BIG! WOW...I'm glad you opened up a little to it. It's really not "old school" since it's NEW...it's just a style other than the dirty south that you should learn to embrace more...since there is more hip hop in other sections of the world, like the Midwest, East Coast, West Coast, and all other non-US places. I give this 4 stars. I don't think that extended Santogold part at the end was needed. It's sort of messed up the "swagger" if you will, of it. Other than that, to be quite punny...this "go hard".

Co-Sign mh and cb. Beat is straight banana's. And i've always thought Kanye gave some of his best beats away. Is it just me or is the repetitiveness in tracks appearing more and more? I'm not complaining though. A Millie, Rich Boy's Drop and not this all three are bangers.

This is a good track right here. I thought she was M.I.A. at first until I looked at the name. They styles are very similar. Jay-Z definitely made the beat better with his lyrics. Not that the beat is bad by any means (Kanye killed it), but he manages to make it even better! This is a BANGER!

DAMNATIONS, definitely wasnt expecting this...on my second b2b listen, i see a third...definitely a banger. at the risk of sounding redundant, KANYE is the best "made-a-hot-line-a-hot-song" producer in the history of that term...

I was surprised by this, Jigga spits fire on this and manages to keep that laid back feeling, beat is amazing, great production of course, and the chorus isnt annoying, in my opinion, like the chorus' other people are putting in their songs of late. Track is killer.

The production i9s great. The Brooklyn We Go Hard repeated doesnt overkill anything. It stays nicely in the background. I like that. Jay-Z spits fire as usual. I like how at the beginning it downs a breakdown but then starts the over all beat. I like how that break down only last a few seconds. The featured guest puts in a nice verse. The voice went with the beat. A very good choice for a featured artist. I can give this a solid 4.

No classic but it's ok for now, and soon will be forgoten. The song was dissappionting. I mean it could have been great but "brooklyn we go hard" was annoying as soon as Jay spit the first verse. They now they could have left that out of the verses.

This is a decent effort by jigga. Although I think he is tring to hard to fit into todays crowd as opposed to leading it like he always has. Kanye handed him a dark beat that seems to be related to the Swagger like 808 family. I'm loving this style of production by the way. I am not really impressed by the jiggaman these days. He prides himself on reinvention but whats in style is retro old ass shit! In my Opinion he needs to fall back to the basics, start rappin like its 96. The kids are in the era of 87-91! Whats next to bite? 95 96! That Pac/ Biggie/ Nas/ Jigga era. Mf gon start rockin Tims again callin themselves thugs. If you ask me that is the direction hip hop is going. Its repeating itself to find its roots. Back to the era of Jay's greatest moments. Without a doubt. Bring back Reasonable Doubt!!!!!!!!!

damn a lot of haters. This song is fire i mean it's no broklyn's finest or i love the dough, but this is still good and Jay has been relevant to what hip hop should be and his songs have good quality and has a quantity of songs. I don't know how this song could get lower then 4 stars while those people that gave this song 2 stars give Soulja Fag 4 or 5. SMH

I remember i used to boycott Jigga in support of Nas during their beef. This makes me wish i hadnt, who knows what i missed!Kanye on the boards with another great sample (Seems to be his style, doesnt it?) I've got no prob with the sample continuing throughout Jay's verses as most people seem to, actually sounds better. And Jigga's lyricism makin you hit up google and wikipedia just to get what he's saying! Lol! They both Brooklyn (Go Hard)This song is amazing, i loved History, Jockin Jay-Z was just cool but this!
I'm just saying, if you think the lyrics were bad, the song most probably went over your head! |

The 2 people that gave this a 1 star. Try rating without a bias. If your not a Jay-Z fan don't rate his songs. No one else gave this anything less then 3 stars, then you 2 jackasses give it a 1. Cmon.
