After watching his debut album, Follow Me Home, collect dust on the label shelves for as long as he has, Jay Rock could be forgiven for feeling a little down. To his credit, though, the Watts, California up-and-comer’s keeping his chin up and “...living for today,” grinding 24/7 to hasten the arrival of his Finest Hour. This leaked track, one of several cuts recorded for a revised version of Jay’s freshman set, finds the headliner showcasing his dedication to the hustle alongside South Florida heavyweight Rick Ross, who brings frequent production collaborators J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League along for the ride. The high-rolling, nose-to-the-grindstone rhymes Rock and the Teflon Don deliver over Rook, Colione and Barto‘s characteristically lush, swanky sampled boardwork, are sure to elicit nods of approval from heads with a taste for motivational street bangers, but will the headliner’s positive attitude be enough to get his CD onto store shelves? As he says on the back end, “Tomorrow is never promised…” For now, we can only keep our fingers crossed.

I know this is a Jay Rock record, but man oh man does Rick Ross know how to pick and choose the beats he uses. Lucky for Jay that Ross' influence (which is obvious here) rubs off. This is a banger.

The production's on this is super lush, which is why Ricky Ross sounds good oin it. Jay rocks better of a slightly dirtier beat. Point is, nothing incredible, but aside from the hook, I enjoyed it. Definition of a three star.

It sounds more of a Rick Ross record than Jay's. From Justice's smooth beat, which I love, to the spanish style hook. Rick owns the song but Jay holds his own but I would prefer a rougher sound from him instead. Still a nice song.

Ross's influence is evident on this track, production bangs & Jay and Ross sounded solid over it. The hook is the only problem i have with this

It's mad annoying to write J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, but I'd be damned if they are not worth the time!
Nobody makes me listen to a song the first 3x without even noticing what the rapper is saying like (-_-' there it goes again...) J.U.S.T.I.C.E.! The breakdown before Ross is great and picks up accordingly. And this type of sound has become a signature of Ross. Good for Jay Rock to have such great production. |

I don’t think much of this track to be honest. It’s good to see Jay Rock still making good music but this is nothing special.

ross of course outshone jay on this song, but not by much in my books. ross' flow meshes perfectly with this beat but honours go to J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League for the dope production. banger

Loved how that engineer sent that bass mix to the vocal track send to give the track a unique sense of clarity at least once.Everything is cut nicely just so you could hear that clap! Nice! overall. rotation though.
