Jason Miller - You And Me ft. Braz [Online Premiere]
Artist: Jason Miller
Producer: Akon
Album: Untitled (TBD)
Label: ShyDog Productions/KonLive
The last time the Booth helped decide whether to give a song the single treatment, it was for Houston R&B singer Dallas Blocker‘s Boyfriend; since the reviews weren’t too hot, it’s likely that his label team is looking for a plan B. For Experiment #2, we present the online premiere of You and Me, a potential single off fellow R&B singer Jason Miller‘s currently-untitled debut. Showcasing an old-school mid-tenor vocal style similar to that of George Michael or Michael Jackson at his peak, Miller woos a high-class shorty with promises of rollerdome romance. Previously-unknown rapper Braz makes his debut with a cool closing verse, but it’s Akon‘s jazzy beat (who knew he could produce like this?) that makes You and Me a prime candidate for crossover success—old souls will simply LOVE it, and new-schoolers will find a lot to enjoy as well. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to listen to this record again—right after I dim the lights and get out some candles, of course!

Hotness right here. This has a huge summer vibe right here, really smooth and sexy track overall. The chorus is sick but the lyrics from it sound like something from a boy band song! Dude sounds a little bit like Lloyd though! But hey, I can't hate - this is a really good song.

Akon's production sets this one up to be a summer hit. This dude sounds smooth on here. I agree with the Lloyd comparison, but it's all good. Braz had a good flow on here. This is in rotation.

WOW this is strange production work from Akon. Sounds like somethin QTip would cook up (cuz he got the jazz... he got the jazz), it is definitely what pushed this joint into rotation for me. Its real tight when the brass comes in. Miller's vocals are really strange, I was thinkin that it was a sample in the beginning, but they were aight. The catchiness of the melody and hook make this easily listenable, and the guest verse from Braz was mildly entertaining and added a good contrast to the track. But OOOOOOH that percussion and brass is just BANGIN!

Love the production (Akon's dope like that), I can see this working as a single, especially Summer.

We've been on Jason's radar for some time now. When his people approached us with this new record, I knew it had potential. They wanted to see what our readers thought and thus... an online premiere here at the Booth. I couldn't be more thrilled that we are a proven testing ground for potential singles.
I say this is a real nice choice for a lead-up buzz record. Jason has that George Michael swagger. |

You know, I had to re-read the introduction because I thought Jasom Miller and Dallas Blocker were an "item".

I'm fealing the song. It gots a old school feel good vibe to it, and the vocals or nice. As far as everyone saying it's too boy band, So were NSYNC, but look at the money they made. I would lose the talking intro part though if they release it to radio.
