I know, I know, you had just begun to get Jason Derulo’s hit single In My Head out of your, well, head, but there was no way we could let the song’s official remix go by, especially when it features Nicki Minaj, the femcee everyone either loves or loves to hate. On the remix version J.R. Rotem’s originally rock oriented production is tweaked slightly and given a softer, more electronic feel, while Jason retouches his vocals to essentially the same effect. And then, of course, there’s the Nicki guest verse, which in true Minaj fashion includes some quasi-schizophrenic vocal stylings and off beat references. So now the question is clear: Did Nicki somehow manage to make In My Head even more memorable, or was the track catchier without her? Let the debate begin Booth. And for the four people out there who don’t already know, the original version of In My Head can be found on the young crooner’s self-titled album Jason Derulo, available now.

Wow. Two remixes this week that actually are REMIXED versions of their original counterpart. In fact, for the second time the remix actually is better than the original.
While I would have preferred another guest feature selection (sorry, I am just not into Nicki's robotic rap ways), JR's synth-pop production is undeniably catchy and Derulo does nothing to hurt the song.

Nicki Minaj annoys the hel* out of me for real, that d1k3 needs to stop her horrible "flow" on any song here on out. Plus she had a Lil Wayne like verse off his 'We Takin Over' verse, get original? Lil Wayne already repeats himself enough we don't need her doing it to.

yo yo... this is a down rmx. i like the beat more, Derulo the same and Nicki was ok.
I guarantee 100% that Loso would have absolutely smashed the remix tho. im actually really dissapointed that i thought of that and now wont be able to hear it. |

Derulo might be my favorite new R&B artist in the game. He has so much talent, and I always get excited when I see a new song from him. I thought the switched-up production on this was dope! Way better beat than the original. Would have dug some new verses from Derulo, but it's all cool. Nicki was pretty tight and sounded good with the beat. This is just a sick nasty remix. I like the overall vibe a lot better than the original.

This is a sweet remix. Much prefer this laidback, chill beat compared to the original...that was a little to poppy for me
Nicki is good, but i dont think she suited this song...it seems like everybody is trying to get her on a track, just cuz shes got buzz atm, not cuz she actually SUITS the track.. She had some memorable lines tho; "Do a pop song to stack my caucasions" haha niice |

Ok here I am, starting to listen, just sittin', waitin' for Nicki's verse to either get me up beating my chest or make me want to put a revolver to my head (not in my head) well, so far, the beat is a lil worse, o dam.. here's nicki... aStRoNoMiCaL... well, she did aight, but it just didn't fit in with the song. at all.

i love jr but i reckon he did a better job on the original- stiff better than 90% of other producers out there though. nicki was alright, she couldve easily been left off though. i wouldve preferred a new jason verse instead of hers. original = classic, remix = rotation

I feel like complaining about Nicki's verses is getting old, so I'll just say that while this is good, the original's production is far better. No contest, original over remix.
And amen Z. Good to see the word "remix" mean more than just the exact same song with an extra verse.

The original version of this goes WAYYYYYY harder. The "Remixed" production and Minaj's guest 16 downgrade this to 3 stars in my book. Jason Derulo is going to be a STAR. If anyone doubts that I will send them my catalog of Derulo "Pop" BANGERS. Nicki Minaj is nothing more than a passing fade.

Jason on the right track with the track but don't get caught up with the media made up pin up girl.
Try some real divas' do a track with Aretha or Patti and see how it goes. Blaze your own path and stir clear of the manufactured format for artist in the industry. Er body try'n to jump on Minaj. I don't think she that talented; good pin up though. PBi |

This remix is hard! The original grew on me & it had 2, becauuse it was much more of a pop-ish record...But this song is more of an R&B track that's easy 4 me 2 get behind..& Nicki meshed well with the track(Although I wishe she had spitt more barz)...

The radio edit of the original song is by far the best I've heard. Niki dropped one bar that was worth listening to; always failing to fully deliver. The remix is garbage and Niki's high profile doesn't help it in the least bit.
