Sure, Jason Derulo has a small army of women throwing themselves (and their undergarments) at his feet everywhere he goes, but that doesn’t mean the young crooner has found what he’s looking for. On the contrary, he’s still searching for that It Girl. The second single off his upcoming sophomore album, following the Booth approved Don’t Wanna Go Home, It Girl is everything we’ve come to expect from Derulo, namely catchy. Producer Emanuel “Eman” Kiriakou covers a lot of musical ground on the uptempo love song, smoothly alternating between acoustic guitars, club synths and huge drum lines. It’d be too much beat for a lot of singers to handle but Jason does well here, rising above the fray with a dynamic but not over-the-top vocal performance. If girls were blushing just listening to Derulo before, I’m willing to bet they’ll be hyperventilating over this one. (Ladies, I know your probably already sitting down to listen to this but please, take the proper precautions.) Plenty more hip-pop-club R&B fusion undoubtedly awaits listeners on Jason’s upcoming, paradoxically titled new album Future History, due out Sept. 27.

A few years ago I would have doubted Derulo had the vocal chops to really carry a record that relied on his vocals and not a powerful backing beat. Surprise, surprise. This will rule radio for the next 3-4 months.

Usually I don't go for Jason Derulo, but his vocals were perfect. A couple more of these and I'll be a fan!

This will absolutely SMASH radio Stateside and across the pond. The whistle part has been stuck 'In my Head' since he released it yesterday, and probably will till the end of the month.

I've never rated a song or given a review on djbooth but I've been using it to find new music for the past 3 years. I don't know why I never posted before but now I feel like I should. I usually like Jason Derulo's songs, but he has a tendency to sample songs and ruin them for me. So I'm glad that wasn't really happening here. The lyrics are a little cheesy but I suppose if I give it a few more listens I'll like it more. Not my favorite, but not terrible.

Wow. 'Whatcha Say' & 'In My Head' I was fan but since then nothing. Now though, I'm once again intranced by Derulo. So catchy!

One of my top pop artists. Seems to always come out with songs, that are above just the average bunch of pop stuff out there. Future HIstory, isn't gonna be historical but I have a feeling it's gonna be pretty damn big.

He just continues to remind me of every other pop male singer out there. I like some of his music. Commercial wise, this is solid for what radio is deciding to play these days(lack of variety included).
