Relax (Your Mind), globetrotting R&B singer Jason Caesar‘s first feature, did its job so well that some readers may not even remember it—if you’re anything like me, you probably zoned out about thirty seconds in, and snapped out of your trance a minute or two after the record was over, thinking, “I’m not sure what just happened, but I feel really relaxed!” Making its world premiere in the Booth, unreleased cut Pullin’ Me Down isn’t quite as hypnotic as R(YM), but it should still come with a warning label that reads “Do not listen while operating heavy machinery.” You know, for all the construction workers idling in their piledrivers, stealing WiFi from the local burger joint just so they can visit DJBooth.net. If you don’t fall into that category, pour yourself a glass of something cold, sit back, and bask in Caesar’s deceptively sunny tale of “...unrealistic, masochistic love.” German production group Fendaheads temper the singer’s rueful lyricism with narcotic guitar arpeggios and synth ambiance, and the combination seems calibrated to elicit wistful sighs. Once you’re finished going “Ah…” and (if you’re French), “C’est la vie...” be sure to render unto Caesar a rave review, and, of course, keep it locked to the Booth for all his latest tunes.

Mr. Caesar, my friend, you need to release a series of relaxation CD's (you know, the kind with the bird calls, the trickling of the river water, etc...) because this is right up there. Smooth defined.

Agreed and by now ya'll know that is my type of shit! I'm a relaxation type cat. It doesn't make for many hits, but it is easy for my mind to grasp personally. With that said, his voice is alil soft for my taste. The beat is relaxing. I think most will find this boring.

Just one of those tracks you can chill to with a smile on your face .... Jason has a strong, yet soothing voice that sets a comfortable mood throughout song.

The production is beautiful, but the track wouldn't work if the vocals over the top weren't on point. Jason's vocals are real nice & smooth. This is def somethin I could throw in and just relax to.

Relax (Your Mind) is way betta, but this is cool 2. I like his style. It's definately sexy & seductive. Grown folk R&B, know what I mean. This kid must be in love. Listening 2 his music will make u wish u were.

I love how smooth his music is! If a major label take a chance on him he could go very far. He is not doing anything that has not been done before, but I think his music can bring together generations like Robin Thicke and Alicia Keys.
