Some songs are meant to do one thing and one thing only; make babies. What J. Holiday did with his hit single Bed in ‘07, Jason Caesar is on track to replicate for 2010 with Hats Off, making its premiere right here, right now. From Caesar’s upcoming album, The Musical, Hats Off is Jason’s gentle, sensual persuasion to try to get his girl to let him in bed without a “rubber coat.” Credit must be given to the track’s producer, Fatboi, since the rhythmic, tribal drum beat does indeed make listeners want to feed their primal urges. “I gotta let you know/like a porno flick with no remote control/ I want to feel it all”. Even though the lyrics are intensely obvious - “Tonight I’m not a Trojan man” - Caesar’s smooth, buttery style actually convinces you that he is just being sweet, not selfish. Despite the romantic air of the cut, this track is so explicit it should come with a warning label: Not responsible for unintended conception. Meant for serious couples only. Jason Caesar’s new album, The Musical, is scheduled to be released September 15, exclusively on DJBooth.net.

Jason told me he had a "baby maker" in him, and by "in him" I mean in his arsenal. This totally takes me back to the mid 90's - the heyday of modern R&B - when Keith Sweat, Ginuwine, and many more took over the radio with these types of songs. "Hats Off," Jason.

At the end of the day when I need some true relaxation music, Jason Caesar always comes correct. This song was the definition of smooth.

As someone who can barely type these words because their baby daughter decided 4 AM was playtime, let me start off my saying use protection. Got it? Ok, moving on.
Jason impresses me more and more everytime. Like Aisha said in her intro, it's not easy to deliver on a concept like this without coming off like a joke, but he's got the vocal chops to make it sound seriously dope.

The premise of the song is a double edged sword- while as the review states- his voice makes him sweet sounding, this song could easily be the anthem for fellas who don't want the peskiness of a condom. But approach aside, the song is put together well- this will be one hell of a radio controversy if it ever got aired (imagine your 6 year old singing "tonight I'm not a trojan man.." ) All in all, smooth sound, decent voice, tough subject.
