With the departures of Bobby Valentino (which DJBooth exclusively broke) and Steph Jones, Disturbing tha Peace was lacking in the male R&B singer department. That is, until Atlanta’s Jarvis arrived; on the heels of his introductory single Pretty Girl with boss Ludacris, the young singer figures now is the right time to drop another potential single from his debut, tentatively titled Dream Girls. With his unique brand of swagger-filled music, fellow ATLien and Swagg Team coach Yung Joc provides sampled vocals and a brand-new guest verse on Everybody Luv Me. Not to give Jarvis short shrift; he brilliantly penned and produced the entire record. Impressed by his ability to take charge of his music? Look for Dream Girls early next year.
oooo yeah i knew i wuz guna lyk thiz cuz of tha begin-n how tha beat dropped....hiz voice iz real-e nice- fitz tha song well...thiz iz soooo NOT garbage (*cough cough thehotchoclet cough*) Joc did hiz thang too. itz a 3.5 but i'll give it a 4.
This record is nothing that hasn't been done before, but together Jarvis and Joc sound good. I feel like Jarvis held back on his vocals a little, he could have given more. As for Joc, he is a great guest feature artist. He is more impressive on other artists' records, than he is his own sometimes. Joc, if you're reading this, you know I love you Cuz!
Really feeling this one. The chorus lacks a little which is what really holds this back from being a smash. Jarvis is truely talented as a singer and producer. The beat on this is great. Banger.
Since when does Joc make memorable lines that are used in future chorus's? (ex Get Like Me) I think the ratings are a little high on this one, the chorus is hot and gives you that little 2 step bounce vibe kind of thing. But the verses are kind of plain and dry, it needs another instrument or chord in there to get it crunk. Not bad though.
im sad to hera dat steph jones is no longer wit dtp...i was waitin for hims to drop...guess luda was takin too long for him....also sad bobby left cuz he was like da jagged edge for so so def to dtp....but bac to jarvis....wasnt he signed to so so def when he first came out?!?!?...hmmmm dnt kno if ima like him wit dtp...dat "pretty girl" song was sh**!!! i hate it. i agreee wit Z, jarvis is holdin bac vocally on dis...i've heard him sing n person...but dis is a cute song......kida sounds like trey a lil bit tho
This is alright but its lacking something. Not a song I can listen to more than a few times. The chorus is pretty good but it needs better lyrics. I put it in rotation though because it is better than a lot of r&b songs out right now
Before I even heard the song, I knew that the hook would be that Joc sample. This is decent, but it's not really this ill to me. Jarvis' voice is straight...Joc is virtually wack as ever and this track therefore becomes a rudimentary contribution to the new music pool. The production is nice though.
Jarvis voice is more than ok and I also like Young's verses. The song isn't original at all, it's quite generic and already heard before...but I think a song like this would suite my next cd mix! I need a stupid song that I listen to only to dance it's ok anyway, I can't rate it higher than 2
