Do you know what brings rats, mice, and snakes up out their hole?  If you’re an Outkast devotee, you know the answer like the back of your hand: “Chonky Fire, spliced with rock ‘n’ roll!”  On this mixtape cut, making its world premiere right here in the Booth (along with Matchstik‘s Give Back and Bossasaurusremix of MURSEverything), the classic, Organized Noise-produced Aquemini closer receives an ‘09 revamp courtesy of reader favorite Jarren Benton and two fellow Georgia new-schoolers.  After dedicating his rhymes to the pioneering duo, Benton lets listeners know just how passionate he is about hip-hop, and Decatur native Jaws of Life follows him up with a little messianic braggadocio. A-Town Love emcee Stanza brings some aggressive, Old Testament swagger on the back end, referencing both David and Goliath and Samson and Delilah in his closing lines.  Whatever Chonky Fire is (can anyone help me out here?), these three have clearly got it, and this record is proof that Southern hip-hop is alive and kicking. For more of Benton’s scorching-hot rhymes, download a copy of That B*tch Ain’t Dead mixtape when it hits the ‘net sometime this summer.

Why yes I do richard. ChonkyFire spiced with Rock and Roll. That was one of the dopest son@s on one of the dopest albums in music history. I like Jarren's version.

Loving the production and lyrics. I'd normally give this a 4 but, due to its subject matter, I'll throw in an extra star. I have to add...where's the next OutKast album at?!

Everything I feel about this track has pretty much been mentioned. Jarren sounded good on this beat. He sounds like he would go great with Andre. I don't know about being a 3rd member of OutKast, but maybe a collaboration.

Daaaaaaaang! Jarren Benton is THAT dude right now! I'm feelin every track he drops, just wish I could buy or download some of it. Guess I gotta wait til that mixtape, but he's the next big thing in my mind. This production is sick, and I love when they thin it down to just the piano or strings, then sprinkle that production back in. And then the electric guitar... wooooo! Hotness.

Honestly, I didn't dislike the song, but it's a far cry from the original and if you aren't really making a song dramatically better than you probably just leave it alone...or rap over it blunted with your homies. Sorry

I can definitely see why they say Outkast dedication. They try to flow like Andre 3000. But it was cool though.

Am I the only one who gets like an old school vibe from this? I don't think this track is missing much at all.

This dude look like Montell Jordon, what LOL OOK The original has always went hard. Outkast freaked this back in the days and my boy Kid Cudi did his thang on this as well. Jarren has a nice energetic flow but it's hard for me to fully appreciate his effort after hearing Outkast & Cudi's versions because their ish is on point. I'll put it rotation because I really dig the energy and production.

I've yet to hear him do an original song yet. on that one Jake One beat he sounded like Eminem, on the PIMP one he sounded like Luda, now he is purposely trying to sound like Andre(but he does a damn good job at it lol)

The guy on the 2 verse is as close to Big Boi as you'll get. Obviously it's not touchin the original but this beat definitely deserves a 2nd run.
