Introduced to our pages via July 2012’s reader-acclaimed Healing and subsequently heard delivering a guest chorus on THURZ’ Keep Livin’, rising R&B singer Jarell Perry finally returns with solo feature numero dos. It’s not hard to see why the artist refers to new single Getaway as, “one of [his] most emotional pieces yet;” the unsigned crooner’s pain and longing are palpable as he urges a certain woman not to give up on their love. Beatsmith Hassan provides a pulsing electronic backdrop for Perry’s heartfelt vocal performance. Fans will be able to find Getaway and much more on independent album Simple Things, scheduled to drop March 18.
