Jamie Foxx - Living Better Now
Artist: Jamie Foxx
Featuring: Rick Ross
Producer: Bink!
Album: Body
Label: RCA
This week, Jamie Foxx and Rick Ross decide to mix it up and make music devoted to wealth and living extravagantly. Okay, so it’s not that big of a surprise (and it begs the question of where they stand in the “real rich” vs. “rap rich” debate featured on RefinedHype last week). Regardless of the actual size of their bank accounts, Foxx and Ross assure the opposite sex that they’ll be Living Better Now with their company. It’s Bink!’s production work that truly makes the song, cleverly inserting a sample from Biggie’s Big Poppa (oh, you’ve heard of it?) into a minimalistic and banging beat, but Foxx’s solid through relatively unremarkable singing and some trademark deep-voiced rhymes from one-half of the Bugatti Boyz do well enough to ensure some club spins with this lavish lifestyle anthem: “I got houses, hobbies, and homes in Abu Dhabi/ never go wrong, I GPS my Ferrari.” If you enjoyed this girl-stealing anthem, be sure to check keep an eye out for Foxx’s latest, repeatedly delayed album, Body, due to finally drop December 14.

Really, Jamie? After several failed singles we get "Living Better Now"? The best part of this song is the production work from Bink! and the best part of the production work is a sample from Biggie. So, for those scoring at home, when a sample from a rap icon is the best part of your record, you have failed.

I'll Pass. Better luck next time Jamie. The auto tune in his voice destroyed this track's chances at success. I did, however, like the Biggie sample. Ross just sucks.

The production from Bink! is the definite highlight. Foxx is going to have to step his game up. I prefer him on more soulful beats. "Unpredictable" was my jam.

It's funny how a comedian can't notice the humour in his own work...
on a side note i think officer ricky is way to over-rated. 1.5 stars round up |

Seriously, I've been bumping this like crazy since it came out a couple of days ago. The last few records Foxx has put out have been average at best, so this is good to hear.
What's wrong with the sample? I works like a charm does it not? When the beat switches up on the break before the chorus....straight fire! Usually Auto-tune annoys the hell out of me when its used so casually but in this case suits the track. Ross is average, but whats new... If R&B singers really feel they need to make a club record, THIS is the way they should do it rather than that cheap euro club sound Akon, Usher and pretty much everybody else is cutting and pasting. 4.5 stars keep the heat coming Mr Foxx! |

Ill give it 2 stars because of the biggie sample. Least they did something to make it decent.

Holy s**t, I'm in love with this beat; captivating from the start; it's haunting and brilliant for clubs. The Biggie sample is brilliant.
Rico Love's songwriting is undeniable, but I think this'll be a banger with a different singer, and a kinetic rapper like Ludacris would absolutely murder this beat. |

I thought Jamie could sing so why does he make a track like this? The beat is hype and I guess it's a club track but seriously...Ross flowed pretty well on this track but Jamie was terrible.
2.5 but rounding up because of Biggie :) |

2 stars: one and a half for Notorious' sample an the other half fo Rozay's verse. WTF is up wit Foxx and this deep monotone ass singing voice...it jus does not bode well...go back to doin it like you did on "Unpredictable"

This is decent right here. Jamie Foxx can sing in so many different ways that its not even funny. He is really really talented. The production is something different, and the whole song sounds like something totally different as well. Rick Ross makes the song better! He sounds good on this beat. Rosay!

All I can say is get better subject material (though I'll have to accept generic ones anyways), better features, and less auto-tune.

Damn I'm feelin real conflicted on this one. Let's break this down:
Pro's: F#ckin bangin beat Jamie's ability to adapt to any style The BIG sample, of course. Con's: F#ckin auto-tuned Jamie Ross (sorry guys, will never be a fan) F#ckin auto-tuned Jamie I'm in the middle, 3 stars from me. |

Ok Jamie enough is enough man. I'm sick and tired of auto-tune already. I can't remember even one track he didn't use auto-tune. If you're doomed without auto-tune, just stop singing then.

It's like the club beat of 'Beamer, Bentz or Bentley'. Just worse lol. Best part of the song was the chorus, Ross was good imo. Foxx just sucked. Stick to acting lol.
