Jamie Foxx - Get Dumb (Number One) ft. Lil' Wayne & Just Blaze
Artist: Jamie Foxx
Featuring: Lil Wayne , Just Blaze
Producer: Just Blaze
Album: Intuition
Label: RCA
On October 28, DJBooth premiered Jamie Foxx’s current T.I.-assisted single, Just Like Me; the record has appeared on our Top 10 Picks chart every week since. As the December 16 street date for Foxx’s new album, Intuition, rapidly approaches, it sounds as though the album’s leading record might have some company at the top of the charts. With assistance from producer Just Blaze, who samples the Beastie Boys’ The New Style, and Lil Wayne, who seems poised to repeat his ‘07 in ‘09 by re-flooding the music market with feature work, Foxx delivers the club-ready jam, Get Dumb (Number One). This lighthearted record is highlighted by a relatively simple bass line, which includes a clap-track chorus, and Foxx’s ability to rap and croon interchangeably. While it’s too early to predict whether Get Dumb will land at Number One, listeners will undoubtedly Get Dumb to Number One.

This is a club banger for sure but im just wondering why someone like Jamie Foxx vocals would go to the autotone? This isnt Jamie Foxx, this Just Blaze..the beat makes this song and its dope! Other than that it just keeps repeating itself throughout the song. Good production and will be popular in the club but ok song.

when i heard this last Saturday, i was like WHAT? because its not something u expect from Jamie Foxx. It really took me by surprise. This is the 2nd new song i heard from him (besides "Just Like Me" that got me excited to hear his next CD. ( i didnt really like "Closer" though.) Alot of singers and rappers are trying to do that one "step out of their box" song. (Plies & "All Black" would be another example)

I like this Jamie Foxx came wit a different swag on this one...not the usual slow love songs that he is accustomed to....its always good to switch it up every now and then...Justin Blaze came through on the beat with his signature "beam me up scottie" sound he that I hear on his records...Weezy was straight on this too overall its a decent track that will be a definite club banger

This was definitely not what I was expecting from Jamie Foxx. I thought Jamie did his thing, but I didn't like the production really. I mean, I could tolerate some parts, but it was really wack at others. I like the swagger on it and plus it's Jamie, but I don't think this record is going to take off. Jamie can do way better than this. LOL...what was up with the partial Rihanna "Disturbia" interpolation? Hahaha. Wayne did okay. But I agree y'all....Jamie NEVER needs the autotune.....did Wayne just say he bumps Iggy Pop? Oh snap! LOL. Eclectic. I can only give three stars for this one. Jamie needs to go back to the lab again and make something better than that.

I am a pretty big fan of Jamie Foxx but I don't think I am feeling him with the autotune. The beat on here isn't really that good, its just all over the place to me. It has a decent melody, but it just doesn't flow for me. Wayne is the only real hightlight of the track really. He spits nicely on here. It's OK...

Yea me either, Auto tune is for people who have trouble vocally in my opinion, Jamie has a gifted voice, he and Kellz shouldn't touch that thing. This beat hits hard but prob is it seems like the fad these days is to duplicate other hits. Amilli has already been done a trillion times. This sounds like it's Illegitimate child here. Still playable though in a club and party setting.

Our society is officially brainwashed! Anyone who rates this with more than 1 star is dumb as the title says it. Jamie Foxx had actually quiet a lot soul in his voice and now he comes with THIS?? This is the wackest beat Just Blaze ever did. Speechless how incredible wack music can be sometimes...I could go on for days now, as a true music lover I get heated when I hear crap like this. horrible...wow

A Milli must have inspired Jamie on this one. I understand why he's trying to keep up with the Jones'. R Kelly would have delivered more essence to this track. Lil Wayne is starting to sound repetitive. Like most, this song will stick like glue.

This is a "A Milli: The return of a horrible idea of a beat turned worse". Agree with Big-A! This is as annoying as "A Milli" so Wayne was the same, but to hear Jamie loosing respect for his own voice and singing such bland melody (is there any?) is sad!

This song would have been better without him on the damn autotuner shit. I'm so tired of rappers and good singers using it. It makes them sound so much worse. Let T-Pain use his @*#$! autotuner without everyone else having to use it as well. T-pain is the only guy that the autuner fits and he knows how to use it and make hits with it. I don't understand why rappers would start using it though. It's ironic though because when T-pain raps he doesn't usually use the autotuner. Anyways this song isn't great and would have been better without the autotuner.

This is definitely a good song but not the best of Jamie Foxx. Jamie set his standard with his last album. This song goes under that standard he set. Which is never a good thing.
The beat is great on this song, but the drown the words. You can barely hear what they say until it gets to Wayne's part. The whole One echoeing is to much he over killed it with that one. I would talk about the lyrics but I couldn't hear them hopefully this track is not in its final album version hopefully they are still doing mixes on it. Wayne's verse though was great, but that could just be that I like lil wayne by default. I also like Jamie foxx by default, but this song didn't please me. This song has the potential to be a number one hit all he has to do is edit the beats to be more in the background and do a for lyric and background singing edits. |

I respect Jamie as an actor more than a musician. And I make sure I didnt wait for lil wayne verse.

how many true club-bangers that you hear have true substanence? The whole point is for it to be fun, upbeat, and able to throw in a mix! It delivers. It'll have me noddin' my head
