Jake Miller - A Million Lives
Artist: Jake Miller
Producer: The Fliptones
Album: None (Promo Single)
Label: eOne
For an artist, earning a million dollars is a much sought after prize. As they say, whoever “they” is, the first million is the hardest. Florida native Jake Miller doesn’t care about making a million dollars, though, when he knows he can touch A Million Lives. On his latest video single, which marks his sixth DJBooth appearance, Miller delivers an ode his fans that have used his music to get through tough times. Over the breezy production of The Fliptones and in between a catchy hook provided by Insane Sounds, Miller highlights the stories of three fans who have been healed, in one way or another, through the his music, which in the end is more valuable than a record deal or expensive chain. No word yet on whether or not this tune will be a part of something larger, but while you wait, why not peep last January’s What I Wouldn’t Give?

This hip-pop trend is growing to new levels - levels that scare me and offend most - but this effort from Jake was simple, effective, not annoying, and actually borderline powerful for the right listener.

Not really my type of track, but it has a cool personal message that Jake had to express...

hip-pop will outsell majority of what hip-hop fans DON'T BUY. Kid has lots of fans that will carry far. He has alot of support, trust me. Just look at Sammy Adams.

Great message! We need more songs with positive messages. Knowing how much money or how many cars an artist has isn't changing lives and isn't making a difference.

It's may be hip-pop, but it does have strong lyrical content and positive message. Decent chorus. Not really my type of song. 3 stars.
