I know my mind can get a little dirty, but what else are you supposed to think when you hear that notorious baby makers Jagged Edge just put out a new song featuring Trina titled Tip of My Tongue. On Tip of My Tongue, the boys’ vocals sound as smooth and pitch-perfect as ever, and thanks to some hypnotizing production work from Mad Screws, the single immediately sounds like Jagged Edge’s next big hit. Joining them on the track is Gucci Mane – who’s apparently determined to top Weezy’s previous “most guest verses in a year” record – and Trina, who shockingly forgoes any sexual references and focuses instead on complex international economic policy. Just kidding, she mostly rhymes about f**king. If you’re feeling Tip Of My Tongue (pun intended) you’re going to have to be patient. Jagged Edge’s new album The Remedy is currently set to drop sometime in 2010. In the meantime, stay tuned to DJBooth for all the latest.

when i first saw this song and heard the sample they used, i was SO ready for this to bang, but when i actually listened to it, it was COMPLETE disappointment. I didnt like ANY of the verses OR the hook. it was a really weak attempt.

Yeah, this is the third or fourth song to sample this beat - most notably, by Channel 7 on the remix to an Ashanti record in 2004 I want to say. The production is solid, the chorus is catchy... what else do you want from Jagged Edge these days?

One point I'd like to make. Most of Lil' Waynes features were relatively enjoyable during his run. Gucci Mane is boring as hell. As for the song, I'll throw it in rotation.

Wasn't expecting much at all here since they've been dissapointing the past several years. This exceeded my expectations, this is a cool slow grinding type of a joint. Sample was hot, and Trina gave it that extra edge.

Jagged Edge is BACK! Veteran artists who've built up their own reputation signing to imprint labels has always been a fine line to walk (examples being E-40 on BME, Bow Wow on Cash Money, Mobb Deep on G-Unit, 8Ball & MJG/Mike Bigga on Grand Hustle). Sometimes it works, other times it just sounds awkward.
JE DELIVERS here, and Trina's finally found her niche-her smooth, sensual rap has a good place here-Only reason it's not a 5 is because of Gucci. Subtract Gucci, add PLIES (SNS labelmate who knows his way around such tracks), and you get a 5-star. Until then, it's just a 4-still looking forward to that album though! |

Got it rated it higher than a 3, because i love art of noise...but like this,everyone has to understand Gucci he makes songs that beat in your trunk and for the girls to shake that...and he is successful with both, and I bet everyone who listen to rap, or hip-hop likes one Gucci song haha don't deny it BURRRR!!!

It’s pretty much what you’d expect to be. Their voices still are there, chorus is catchy, Trina did what she was required to, nuthin much nuthin less and I was groovin to the smooth grinding production until Gucci came on. Can't stand his lazy drawl and his non-sensical lyrics disrupts the flow, ruins the mood, and fcuks up the rating. Oh well, its their loss.

I love this band! Their sound comes always easy on the ears with the harmonizations, the vocals make the songs! They DON'T NEED FEATURES, unless it's really good ones. These were unnecessary (Trina) and mediocre (Gucci). :s I'm really pissed I lost an opportunity to have a sexy song to play while with a lady... but as soon as I hear Gucci, it'll ruin the mood. The guy is awful! (lol @Xo-D3Z!-oX, though! XD)
Production and melody are catchy, it's a shame this was wasted with features. |

Edge has lost their Edge. I dunno maybe im wrong, maybe they still can make more hits. This song here is not one of em tho. I think they need to get back w/Nelly..... then they can make a real hit again. Trina was ight here, no bueno on Gucci here tho.

Gucci must be closing in on that record for most guest appearances, to bad they aint anywhere near the quality of what weezy was dropping consistently this time last year.
Tracks decent, production is the highlight for me, Jagged Edge were solid though I cant see this being a hit for them |

the sample is overplayed....but it does fit the sound Jagged Edge was goin for on this track...Trina added a nice little element to the song....but could have done without Gucci...its a steady track for J.E. but overall just not what i expected from them...hope to see better from them....

This song is very good. The beat is good and jagged edge is always on point, Trina was ok, and everyone knows that gucci can't cap but he makes you nod your head and get hype, and u can't blame jagged edge for putting him on the track.......BANGER

In my opinion Gucci is just good for crunk dancing music. I hated him when he first came out. If it wasn't for Zoe, I prob still would. The new "rap" is full of garbage rappers like Gucci, so I cannot really hate.
BUT-- I love Jagged Edge... so three stars! |
