Most listeners know Jagged Edge as an atypical R&B group whose lyrics are often suggestive but almost never vulgar. That said, take one listen to the previously-unreleased,Smoking While We Drive, and that half-wholesome image might become somewhat tainted. Listen even closer though and it will become apparent that Snoop Dogg is the true mastermind here; besides his guest verse, Niggarachi (his production alter-ego) provides a smoky beat and longtime DPG protégé Daz closes on the grind. With up incoming rapper Bohagon along for the ride, Smoking While We Drive is a solid jam for that dreary day in drive (whether you smoke or not).
i love the cheech and chong up in smoke clip at the beginning...i like the beat...its pretty chill...i dont really like daz in the song...i feel like the song is cool until daz comes in and messes up the energy...jagged edge does their thing as usual
How the @*#$! did give smoking a sexual appeal? And how come the producer couldn't keep up WITH HIS OWN DAMN BEAT? and daz didn't make it any better. i guess once bohagon done it's no point in listening anymore
The intro is the hottest part of this song... and the credit can't even go to any of the artists. Jagged Edge might have wanted this cut to remain unreleased for a reason.
This track has a nice feel to it and I somewhat like the message. It's just a little bland at times which actually make me want to turn it off which isn't a good thing at all. Damn, even Snoop doesn't feel enthusiastic about this song. This should remain unreleased...
Okay, I could really only listen to this while I'm smoking while I drive - like, when I'm so blowed, I'm not paying attention to what's on the radio.... What's the point of this song? The singing is mediocre (at best), and nobody's verse is particularly on point. Most likely they were getting high at the lab, freestyled this track, and convinced themselves it was hot.
Ima hav2 agree with DJ Blaze if Snoop came on a lil harder i think this song wouldV upgraded to a 4star but for now ima hav2 giv it 3stars.. its not bad and I love the slow beat but itz nothing special unw?!
Is this song called Smoking While We Grind?? JE is singing Smoking While we Drive, which makes more sense. I think M. Burmy messed up. Also I just noticed (from Cali24's comment) that Snoop made the beat, which is really the tightest thing about the song.
the song i mostly like of jagged edge is "put a lil umph in it"- that's a gud song! But dis, dis ain't for me. And smokin while we grind- wut a stupid message and topic for a song. o yea, snoop wasn't that gud in dis. Jagged edge betta step up
Im a huge fan of Jagged Edge and have loved everything they have put out, BUT what is this garbage? worst song by JE that i can think of. They should stick to songs similar to their last album, i hope this never makes it to any upcoming albums!
