Originally slated for a November 13th, 2007, release date, Ja Rule’s new album The Mirror has been placed in temporary holding. According to the rapper’s MySpace page, the project is “coming soon.” Although according to a label insider, there is no set date for The Mirror to hit store shelves and online retailers. What does that mean for R.U.L.E.? It’s time to release a new single. Following the street cut, Uh Oh, featuring Lil’ Wayne, and the radio-ready fizzler, Body, comes the much talked about Beatles-assisted, Father Forgive Me. According to an interview with DJBooth in October, Ja feels his updated version of the classic hit Eleanor Rigby is both “incredible” and “very edgy.” He later went on to say “I can’t wait till for people to hear it”; oh the irony.
OK I gotta vent here...i dont know if any of ya'll heard his leaked buzz single "Free", but it was honestly one of the hottest hip hop songs i heard in a long ass time. Uh Ohh was annoying, Body was too 'pop', and this song just straight up sucks. Why didnt he realease FREE and put himself back on the map?!?!
NOW I MUST SAY IM FEELING THE BEAT, I KOOD VYBE WIT, BUT I HOPE THIS AINT A SINGLE BCUZ IT WILL NOT DO WELL....JA HAS LOST WHAT HE USE TO HAVE B4 50 I WAS A HUGE JA RULE FAN BUT LIFE AFTER 50 CENT HAS NOT BEEN SO GOOD FOR HIM....I LIKED UH, OH N EVEN AFTER CONSTANT RADIO-PLAY I WAS GOOD WIT BODY BUT THIS SEEMS LIKE IT DRAHS ON BOREDOM....I STILL BELIEVE HE CAN COME BACK BUT OBVIOUSLY ITS NO TIME SOON.
Before everyone throws Ja off the deepend, understand the difficulties involved when using any sample/interpolation from the Beatles catalog. Though Ja doesn't produce a better song than Eleanor Rigby, he certainly doesn't disgrace the song either. I agree with cb, Free was a hit. They messed up.
1 star for the rhythm, 1 for the violins (and all sorts of strings used in this one), 1 for the quick flow and lines, 1 for the idea of the song that only got messed up because Ja Rule was careless on the singing. If he had really tried to sing it well, this would be a classic! And I’ll rate like that cuz other people should hear it before considering it garbage by the present rating. (Ya’ll need to separate yourselves from the beefs, at least when it concerns to judging a song that has nothing to do with it)
I must say...50-cent really killed this guys career. He was at the top of his game and on top of the hip hop AND R&B game and it all disappeared in a FLASH! Even on top of all of that; Ja rule is a very talented rapper and his voice is still ready for TV and he never really lost his flow. His flow is tight on this track and this beat is HOT! This is a good track all around. I am probably the #1 G-Unit fan, and I can honestly say that Ja-Rule still has it and this track is very different and also done very well. Good job from me...Banger!
Can anyone recite a Ja Rule line from anyone of his "hits".....his delivery makes it hard to disect what he's saying....yeah he got a deep voice but come on stop growling and rap like you talk Ja...this sh!t only works for DMX....not to mention not feeling this track at all....50 helped him in ending his career

anyhow this is a depressing song for me, I wish he had got a girl to sing the chorus, maybe there to afraid to work with him after his career tank!

he should have called mary it would have been a hit!

if you got time ( and we know you do )

and if your reading this, ( you probably are)

call mary and get her to remix with you bra!!

Peace 6.8-10
well i likes it and i likes ja always have im not nor have i never been into 50 cent....regardless of how i feel bout 50 i would have never let wat he gotta say bout anyone influence how i feel bout another artist....i have been a ja supporter since day one and i still believe that he has more left to offer tha game....tha song is very good... well done execpt 4 tha hook yea i cud care less if he sings but, he shud do atleast a decent job tho.but its cheaper to do ur own hooks urself lol!!!!....still luv ya ja!!! keep doin ya thang..tenacity is tha key!!!!
stop hatin on ja hes back in the game, and how is this song crap when jigga said it was the best song hes ever heard? im really feelin this song i think its gonna be a real hit
bone thug lady is right, Jay-Z was really impressed by this goin as far as sayin it's one of the best songs he's ever heard! I didn't know he said this, but he certainly knows more about rap than those rating this as garbage. Hope this gets a remix with Jay-Z, Nas, Kanye (or anyone clever), and someone please sing the chorus instead of Ja (or else he takes the singing seriously, that would work too).
Not gonna lie, the beginning had me bustin out laughin. But it's like reading a book, its always a bit boring in the beginning, untill you reach the climax and get pulled in. Its the same thing for this song. His flow is still tight. Never really was a singer, but at least the guy isnt using a voice box.
I agree wit all tha other people-Ja Rule should STOP SINGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ja Rule should get somebody like Linkin Park or some other Rock Band/singer to SING THA HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still like his verses!!!
Tha beat iz SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ja Rule iz Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dis @*#$! iz strait up hot @*#$!!! @*#$! ja rule. 50 killed dis nigga in dat beef. u wz #1 but now ur nothin. i lost respect 4 u. u dont even need 1 star.. stop singing and rapping.
