It’s been almost a year since we last heard J. Holiday – on his Round 2 album – and almost three years since the release of his breakthrough smash Bed. So what’s the DMV crooner been up to during all that time off? Honestly, I have no idea, but somewhere in there he started recording new music, including his new offering Pretty Body. Originally leaked, Pretty Body uses some remarkably Dream-esque production from Los Da Mystro (who also produced Bed) to set the stage for Holiday’s trademark seductive falsetto, a stage he fills with some appropriately steamy lyrics. For some reason I feel like the ladies are going to swoon over this one (if ladies still swoon). So, will Holiday’s decision to make the most out of a leaked situation and turn Pretty Body into an official single lead to a full blown comeback when his currently untitled third album drops sometime this year? That, Booth, is up to you to decide.
