J The S was all business on his last DJBooth feature, telling all who would doubt him, “I’m gonna do My Thing.  Acknowledging that he’s been a little serious as of late, the Boston emcee looks to lighten the mood with his latest mixtape record, on which he explains that he’s been counting paper and blocking out the haters for so long it’s become Automatic.  Stu Banga‘s beat, which pairs glittering synths with a subdued-yet-driving bassline, reflects Jake’s mellowed-out confidence as he weaves everything from global warming to Egyptian architecture into his freewheeling flow.  Automatic, as well as the previously-featured My Thing, can be found on J The S’s My Will mixtape when it drops on Tuesday, and fans should stay tuned to the Booth in the coming months for his contribution to our DJBooth Freestyle Series.
