Similar to the path taken by international superstar Rihanna, R&B/Reggae fusion quartet, J Status, has landed on U.S. soil. Shortly after their journey to America from the Caribbean, Orain ‘Shabbz’ Stewart, brothers Byron and Dru Barwise and Andrew ‘A.T.’ Thompson met with Evan Rodgers and Carl Sturken of SRP Records. The label founders, who are also responsible for acts such as Shontelle and Javier, inked the fellas almost immediately after hearing them harmonize. Now, after several years of working their records overseas, J Status is releasing their debut single, I’m Ready, to radio nationwide. The record, produced by Kuk Harrell, is an up-beat club jam that could best be described as a marriage between techno and dancehall.

That sound on the background from beginning to the end gets on my nerves!! WTF! It doesn’t stop for a second! The beat is nothing special! The band sounds so uninspired! You can tell they were forced to this. The chorus is soooooooooooo “creative”!

That's right FredRico the background sound is really annoying! Anyway I kinda like this, I like the beat and the melody...pity for that sound, it ruins the song

i like the background stuff. throw a lil rock in these beats, make em dif,,. but yeah they do sound uninspired. kinda got better at the end though

J Status should stick to songs like Roll. That song was fiyah! But I guess they want to do commercial songs for those who don't know good music. pretty sad.
