It’s simple, really. The Sooner You Get To Love singer J. Holiday, the sooner you’ll go out and purchase his gold-certified debut album, Back of My Lac. For those who passed over the album after it came out on October 2, of this past year, Capitol Records has a February treat for you. The label and Holiday have decided to repackage the album, mark it as a special ‘deluxe edition,’ and re-release it with three brand new songs and a second disc with videos and behind-the-scenes coverage. Sooner You Get To Love, the only new record which will be treated as a single, isn’t as catchy as the #1 hit Bed. However, it just might be good enough to turn some people into Bed lovers if they already were’nt. The re-release will land in stores and at online retailers on February 5th.
i heard this joint prior to his album droppin, he vocals are on point but this joint just a lil too slow n draggin for my taste. it'll do well with the older folks tho.
I get why he went with the guitar rifts, but it's not really working for me; gives it a dated feel and not necessarily in a good way. Through this song, it seems like j holiday isn't as good of a vocalist as I thought he was (ie. he might be pushing it a bit on his vocal talent). But the main gripe I have with this track is that it's pushing the sensual theme again, and the obvious comparison is to Bed. And since Bed was such a monster song, this is kinda weak in comparison.
this is a good chilled out song, a little too slow for car rides, but layin with ur girl in ur room, it's perfect. give this dude mad props, he can sing great live, i like this song, idk bout yall but its good.
Why invest in J. Holiday is a mystery because his biggest hit sounds like The-Dream. Go and invest in The-Dream instead and just download J.Holiday's singles off i-Tunes. I like this song but it is not going to make me get his repackaged album, that would be ridiculous.
new song?...naw i think not. i heard dis from him along time ago, like bac n april/may of 07. i think its on the chocolate city mixtape cuz he has alot of underground songs(alot of which sound betta den da songs on da album, jus like trey songz's album...not sure wat dere management was thinkin but wateva). i think he jus went bac n da studio n re-did it. its straight. but dere's a few others he should consider makin a single.)
kellz: um j holiday does not sound like the dream!!! da dream wrote "bed" so dats y u can hear dat eh eh shit, but i ant neva heard dat n da rest of his songs. but since u think he sound like him, u mind as well say rihanna sound him too....

I have this album and it is pretty damn good. This song is smooth and mellow. J. Holiday has a really distinct sound and style and it will definitely take him far in the near future! Good track for the radio and to put into rotation!
Like it back of my lac is in heavy rotation at my house lol his cd was better then expected and the dream didnt write all the songs only bed and suffocate doing really good on the charts so .. j holiday gonna do big things like the ginuwine of 2008
This is smoooth. The hook sound very familiar though. Like I heard it from an oldie song. Anyways he is doing the grown and sexy thang. I bet his album is real soulful too. I might check it out when I get the chance.
Why am I going to buy another J. Holiday album; I already bought the last one. I abhor when the label does that. For example, the Justin Timberlake album. They should save the track for another album or just sell it as a single. Stop doing that to me, please.
i agree with geminigoddess. not new! i liked this song when it was on my computer a year ago. but yeah. i used to love it. i thought it was called a love of your own though. but oh well
I like J. Holiday, but nothing will compare to Bed. I can see what 'Kellz' and 'gemini godess' were saying about The-Dream. He wrote the song Bed, but the rest of J's album doesnt really sound like Bed. However, The-Dreams album has that feel and lyrics too it. But both these guys are going to be Great r&b singers!
