J Futuristic - Go Go Go
Artist: J Futuristic
Featuring: Lloyd
Producer: Jim Jonsin
Album: J Neutron
Label: Bases Loaded/Universal Republic
The future is now, Booth readers…. and, to be honest, it sounds sort of like 2008. Formerly known as J Money (but not to be confused with this J-Money), Universal Republic signee J Futuristic has stepped out of his time machine with Go Go Go, a new single which is more than a little reminiscent of a certain smash hit from a rapper whose name starts with “T” and ends with “I”. But, hey, is that such a bad thing? Jim Jonsin‘s bubbly synths sound as fresh as ever on this radio-ready cut, and the ATL emcee tackles the “I’ll buy you stuff and take you on crazy-expensive vacations” theme with plenty of panache. Booth-approved R&B singer Lloyd handles guest duties, stepping up to the mic to provide a guest verse as well as delivering a hook befitting a potential hit. Is Go Go Go appealing enough to make waves despite covering well-trodden thematic territory? That, of course, is for you to decide. If you like what you’re hearing, keep it locked for the latest on J. Futuristic’s J Neutron LP, which has yet to receive a solid release date from the label brass.

While Futuristic doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel here, this is the classically mindless hip-pop that sells millions of singles and ringtones (and I cannot hate on people who like to make money).
It lacks in creativity, substance, and originality, buy Lloyd always offers up a dope hook and Jim Jonsin's bouncy production (which always sounds kinda the same to me) is catchy enough to listen twice and not hate yourself. I'd rotate, but it wouldn't have been for very long. |

and because of that dj-z it feels flat and sounds copied from the grandhustle alum thats what pisses me off about this song its the same flow almost copy for copy.
its still hott i have to admit the beat is seductive and the change up is very intresting although it is limited. it gets boring the more you listen as-well so id expect the music video too beb the hit of this track regardless of the little creation within this its still gonna be good and i give it 3 stars. it really has that jesse mccartney flow at the end which is surprisingly nice though |

kinda sad that this is gonna top the site music charts for weeks, but w/e i guess thats why its called mainstream, and it is undeniably catchy.

Ok, this guy is a pure Yung LA clone from the flow to the futuristic fetish, -1 star for lack of originality. The production is hot, as always from Jim Jonsin. +2 stars. Lloyd was nice. +1 star. So 5-1= Max 4 stars. 2+1=3, so this is in rotation. Lol @ the math.

Do some rappers try any more? Do they play back the track they just made and honestly go "this is some of the best ish i've ever spit on, i'd be proud to play this on the radio, i'd get more people to listen to my music!" No, this fool was only thinkin about that ONE check the producer is gonna cut him and THATS IT. And wtf is Lloyd doing on this? A wack track can and will make some artists wack too. Somebody should tell him that.

Not a bad track, though I wish he didnt jake Yung L.A.'s style on this. Production is the highlight, Lloyd wasnt really needed, though his verse was probably the most enjoyable on this track.
With any luck, this will get the remix treatment as I think this could be a minor hit with a couple of good rappers on it. 2.5 |

He sounds just like Yung LA. SMH. and the beat sounds recycled. It's not garbage, but it is definitely not in MY rotation.

This song did nto impressed me much.
Probably beacuase the beat sounds too commercial and easy(recycled). and J futuristics flow isnt too bad but its easy forgettable. its stilll gonna catch some radio play though. |

mainstream radio is the furthest this song will go go go. wow the beat as richard says has the same feel as whatever you like as does j futuristic's flow. lloyd was pretty good but his reputation isnt going to improve jumping on a track like this.

Fittingly I'm going to copy all the comments below and say that this is just too copy and paste for me. And on the real I don't think this is even going to make noise on radio. I'll probably be eating my words in a few weeks, but it just doesn't sound like a hit to me. Pass.

Why does this guys sound like Yung LA from TI's label? I thought that was his "theme" for his style but I guess in the future we are all mirrors and copy whatever is that new sh*t..too bad it's all old and well...not good at all. Hook is even annoying which probably means its going to be drilled into my head on the radio..lucky for me I only listen to djbooth and my ipod! Pass

Jim Jonsin has earned enough brownie points with "Armada Latina" for me to hate on his recycling habits, plus its the artist who gets to select the beats. And I can't lie his catchy keyboard melodies are addictive.
Unfortunately, we can never underestimate the impact a poor "rapper" can have! J Futuristic, his apprehensible Gucci Mane flow was on point! but it’s like comparing 1 against 0. It would be so much better for me if this would've been a Lloyd track cos he sounds extra nice on that third verse. As it is, okay at very best! |

This is like a bubble gum beat. Jim Jonsin's stuff sound too similar, but they still sound good. J Futuristic's reminds me of TI on this one. TI would've been good on this. Lloyd's vocals were smooth as always.

This guy is boring and Lloyd really doesn't really add anything except a hook that makes my ear drums wanna pop. Lloyd has been killing it lately, but this was horrible. Production seems fairly simple as the verses go on, but when the hook comes in, everything feels too mashed together and the only thing that I can really hear is "Go Go Go." As for Lloyds attempt at a verse near the end of the song, that really didn't need to be there. J Futuristic failed with this track.

Jim Jonsin has always made catchy productions like this one. The chorus is undeniably good. However not feeling these verses by j. Too much mainstream for me. All about money buying happiness and that's what sells too bad its not even a good song.

This song is ridiculously catchy. Thanks to Jim Jonsin and Lloyd. They both never fail in radio smashes.
J Futuristic does sound like Yung L.A. but I suppose it's also catchy. Perfect mainstream pop radio and midtempo dance cuts. |

Now that all the 12 yr old girls have gushed their love for this track. Let me shed a dose of realness. This is crap and should never have made it out the drunken studio session where it was originally produced...
