While all artists appreciate their fans, J. Cole really loves them. How else can you interpret the Valentine’s Day release of the latest Born Sinner singler, other than as a present? On second thought, maybe I’m wrong, because judging from the buzz-worthy selection, it sounds like Cole might already have a Valentine in mind. On Power Trip, one of his strongest single selections to date, the Roc Nation emcee gets back to his vivid storytelling tip, weaving a tale of a girl who has him wrapped around her finger. Cole’s energetic, powerful flow combined with his colorful wordplay will surely be music to the ears of those who favor Cole’s older work, with a vibe reminiscent of Dreams, another tale of Cole’s obsessive love. Grammy winner Miguel Golden Gates the tune lending his silky vocals to the bridge, adding yet another element to the dense effort. Born Sinner has been pushed back to an April 30, but the buzz for the album should pick up with the release of this tune and his Truly Yours EP, featuring a handful of cuts that did not make the album.

I've got to give this one a five. I was a little disappointed by the other few tracks J Cole had put out for Born Sinner. This makes up for that.
The beat is so smooth, Miguel lays down an awesome hook. Of course, Cole brought the heat. Will be bumping this for a while, good stuff |

Brilliant flow and beat, old skool hip-hop at it's best. Miguel delivers stunningly beautiful vocals as per usual. The chorus sweetens the deal with smooth sound and is not too annoying.

Not quite a 4... Distracting beat, sounds like someone's trying to bump bass through mids. He's certainly getting out there experimenting, he has a lead in/out chorus which I think could be cut down so it doesn't repeat. His lyrics are reminiscent of his older work but they're still fresh. Glad to see him putting out work like this and Truly Yours close together.

Great track! J Cole did an amazing job with the beat, and Miguel and J Cole both did an amazing job with the flow and lyrics. Hook does a good job of stringing the verses together.
