Iron Solomon - Rule #4081
Artist: Iron Solomon
Featuring: Cassidy
Producer: Iron Solomon and Isaiah
Album: Monster
Label: Unsigned
To quote Q-Tip‘s industry rule #4080, “Record company people are shhhaddddyyyy!” With the help of freestyle master Cassidy, Iron Solomon sets out to spread the word about the industry on his latest single, Rule #4081. Solomon co-produces the record with Isaiah to showcase not only his lyrical talent, but also his work on the keys. With the help of his Philadelphia collaborator, who rattles off a laundry list of hip-hop stereotypes on the chorus as well as delivering a guest verse on the back end, Iron schools listeners on the marketing strategies that labels use to make money, stating that industry heads don’t care whether the music is whack or not. Although Iron does spit a couple of exaggerated lines, the majority of his claims are accurate. In fact, Solomon’s rhymes serve as a nice little guide for up-and-coming artists who are trying to break into the industry. The collaborators’ styles complement each other nicely, and the result is a strong Booth debut. Keep it locked for the latest on Solomon’s Monster LP, which has yet to receive a release date.

I'd have to agree wholeheartedly with our writer JR, in that "Rule #4081" is a super solid Booth debut for Iron Solomon.
The delivery matches the production and message of the song and Cassidy sounds at home (see his recent single as an example of that opposite). |

Pretty solid, Cassidy on the feature got my attention and I'm glad I did because Iron actually shined on here as well. Love the flow and production.

brilliant concept, decent beats, great cameo by cassidy, and iron solomon killed it! love it. the truth about the music industry can't be told enough, even though it seems that hip hoppers are the only ones tellin it.

I am amazed at all the 5 star ratings for this track. Really? The hook is Hollywood and the flow is definitely mediocre. Not a good mix while talking about Hip Hop. A lot of Marcus Houston fans voted for this one huh!

ok i know the concept is great but at best both Iron and Cassidy could of did it alot different with more fire to it. Production wasn't there for me and then to even auto-tune the hook that should be a hip-hop industry no-no rule . sorry just think these guys could of did much better

Iron Solomon is the truth! lyrics and wordplay are always on point! sounds like they meant to make it commercial to go with the meaning of the song so the auto - tune makes sense. whos the singer? not really a fan of rappers talking about the industry but this was creative + ill he and cass linked up

Lyrics are Dope, make you wanna listen to the content instead of just bobbin your head to it. I'm pretty sure they kept the production sounding commercial for a reason... I've heard plenty of nasty underground beats come out of iron solomon's magic hat.
It fits the title, (if you get the reference) keep doing what your doing! |

Solomon ripped it as usual, I have come to expect that from him. Tight to see him linked up with Cassidy. The beat fit the lyrics and I like the title. Drop some more on us, I'm waiting patiently!!

To all of those people wondering about all of the 4 and 5 star ratings, what we have here is a fan base that came on to vote for Solomon. That's why they only have one or two ratings. Solomon's the only reason why they voted and their trying to show support. And well its not that i['m not showing suppport but i think we need to make the overall rating more reasonable. This is about a 2 or 3 star song at the most.

I don't get the hype on this one. Nothing really is above average and that hook is just giving an auto-tune a bad name.

There are artists so great that they define the rules. They are few and far between. There are artists that take pride in adhering to the rules. They are many, and all over the place. Of course among them there are some great talents who excel at bringing the rules to the highest possible level. But then there are artists who take chances; who risk going beyond the rules to achieve something, to reach people who haven't yet been reached, to say things that need to be said. Not everyone gets them; not everyone digs them. To me, Iron is like that. He's always trying shit out, and he always has a point of view. Some people are gonna love him for that, some people are gonna hate at him. C'est la vie. Look at the list of people who've ALREADY collaborated with him, and you'll see the level of respect he's getting. I say, keep doin' it.
