A dual representative of Rochester, New York, and Washington, D.C., rapper Illanoise aims to “bring the East back, one bar at a time.” On his latest street mixtape, Rooftop Vol. 1, Illa has scooped up Konvict duo and Virgin Islanders, Rock City, to help Tell U Again about his master plan to take over the rap game. Vocally, no one artist outshines the others, but rather all play off of producer Styles (not P), who contributes a solid mid-tempo organ instrumental. Whether the Northeast will be “brought back” as a result of Illanoise’s efforts, however, still remains to be seen.
I don't think the beat really matches up with the lyrics and vocals, but i like the way it may or may not as though the Album is named after the label?
The songs of today have all the same problem: the beats are super but it seems like they don't go well with the hook...this has a great beat but I don't like the hook, although they are both ok to me|
Patty, I see what you mean about the production and the hook not going together as best it could. Unfortunately, that is what happens in our current era of ProTools and E-mail. Rock City, however, does very feel on the feature (despite what Michael Hannah had to say, haha). Not bad from the homie.
man everybody raps about the same thing it gets old.raps about different stuff. how can you make people think your ahrd when all you do is say dont make me tell you again
This is too slow and its wak. Thats too bad because the name "illanoise" is a tight name and I can see that name in the history books but this song doesnt prove anything. This song doesnt make me want to buy his album.
Beat is fire...but the hook is not working well witht he track...Illanoise has a pretty decent flow though...but all in all the track needs a different hook and i would listen to it
