iD the Poet - Climb From Your Grave
Producer: Woogalark aka Casey Weldon
Album: Raincheck
Label: Tidepool Music
“Climb From Your Grave... and awake”—or, if you happen to be alive, just wake up and open your ears; on his current single and first Booth feature, iD the Poet delivers a message that listeners can’t afford to ignore. Over producer Woogalark‘s rock-informed boardwork, the Los Angeles-bred, San Diego-based emcee shares his take on the U.S.’ current social and economic woes. Released earlier this month, iD’s Raincheck LP is available now in stores and online.

The production is very good in some areas, then bad in some other areas since it switches up. I think iD the Poet is decent, but not as good as Gym Class Heroes (they do sound similar).

iDthePoet is the man! In this sea of watered down rap cats he's a breath of fresh air. Not to mention he does almost all of his production in house. I'll keep listening...

Mad props to ID the Poet, yo for real. His beats are fresh and he gives a @*#$! about lyrics. That fool occupies the Wall St in your brain. Thats not to say that ninja wouldnt rap about a Benzo, but he's waitin' for the next album for that. Way to clean ID! Shit is dope.

Punk rock lyrics that float over beats...I enjoy underground hip hop like this. for thats where social commentary went for the most part. Props to a lyricist that can articulate in cadence to dope beats. Raincheck is a great album, so is his work with Genius of Soul...looking forward to more solo work, until then Raincheck remains in rotation.
