In ‘06, hip-hop’s most in-demand ‘hookman’ was Akon. Last year, almost every artist and their mother recruited T-Pain to do their hook work. So, whose turn is in now that the calendar has flipped to ’08? We think it’s safe to assume that title belongs to Sean Kingston. After lending his hook talents to Clyde Carson, Lil’ Fizz and Bun B, Kingston has been scooped up by unsigned Florida MC, Hunt, for the synth-tastical I’m A Rider. With a solid ‘hit candidate’ beat courtesy of Kingston’s only producer, JR Rotem, Hunt tries his best to standout on the song amongst his talented coworkers. In order to be the best, however, you can’t merely work with the best. Luck for Hunt, he’s only been rapping for a little more than a year.
I like it, kingston kills it and for only rapping for a year, Hunt has a chance. He seems like a talented Florida MC who has a unique voice and style, its not amazing but its better than a lot out there.
mmoore1127, i've heard all those tracks he's hooked on, and they ALL sound the same. if he doesn't become the most featured, peeps will haveta forget his previous hooks
if i had the money for it sean, pain, akon, chamillionaire and rock city would bless my hooks. and you all know you would do the same. I JUST WOULDN"T FUCK UP THE VERSES!!! (hint hint)
Sean Kingston rips this chorus with his voice. I am feeling the chorus a lot. I kinda like Hunt's flow and his voice is really grimy and gutter. I am feeling the beat on this...It has a real Miami feel to it. This dude Hunt has a real good flow on this track! Someone needs to sign him ASAP!
I can see what people are saying about his voice, but I kinda like it. It finally gives me something different to listen to, and give him mad props about production such a good sounding song, while still being unsigned.
I might include this in my set, b/c I know most people are never gonna hear this song, it it has a nice baseline for me to work with. I would probably flange/screw the Sh*t outta this though, and probably do something with the tempo too. Any thoughts Dj's
Might not be the best, but this song is gonna fill a hole in my set, thanks DJbooth for another song added! ( I think that makes 7 singles now that I have bought b/c of this site)
Not a bad song at all, hunts voice isn't terrible...he still needs a few things here and there but i think he may have a decent future in hip hop. he does need to step his writing game up a bit.
It's not bad, that Hunt guy threw it off a bit in some spots, towards the end he started getting pretty good. I like Kingston's part, and the beat's really good. I kind of like it.
