Island Urban Music introduced rapper Hot Dollar to the world last summer with the release of his debut single, Streetz On Lock. The Scoop Deville-produced song peaked early, fizzled late and was underwhelmingly followed-up with the cell-phone crazed, Sidekick. Now after a few months of A&R discussions and Def Jam brain-trust meetings, the West Coast native drops the Trey Songz collaboration, I Got 2 Get It. Not yet released as an official single, the up-tempo record makes two things clear: Hot Dollar is a much better lyricist than Streetz On Lock indicated and Trey Songz murders guest features. I Got 2 Get It will be featured on Dollar’s debut album, My Dreams… A Day in the Life, set to drop later this year.
Production is pretty creative (love the I-I-I on the chorus start; who’s the producer anyway Z?)Trey Songz puts so much emphasis on this that’s impressive! Not very impressed by Hot Dollar though, he did just ok.
Honestly...I can get 5 people from just driving around Newark, NJ that can rip this song better than Hot Dollar! Trey Songs does his thing, but Hot Dollar is just another rapper who will get caught in the bottom of the bunch. I wouldn't be surprised if this album never makes the cut...
Hot Dollar has always sucked, dude cant flow or rhyme. With that said the chorus and beat are straight fire. Hopefully someone rips Hot Dollar out of this song and remixes it (like a mash up).
Dolla is pretty weak.. his flo is aall f**kd up on dis one but Trey Songz is like ma idol so da song getz an upgrade just koz of him =) 2.5starz from me
damn son, Songz killed it, the beat killed it, but when talking about literally killin it, Hot Dollar succeeds...damn he sucks on this. I give it a three for Trey and the beat, this needs a good remix with someone like Styles P or Red Cafe
shot dollar aint got much, beat is rather good and the only 2 reason song is good is cuz one the beat and two trey killed it on the chorus, he saved hd....so the song is ok
