In an age of copy and paste rappers it’s rare that I get to say this, but there really isn’t anyone else out there like Hopsin. Maybe you know him as the guy with the white eyes, maybe you know him from that XXL Freshman cover or Am I a Psycho, or maybe you don’t know him at all. In that case, I couldn’t think of a better introduction to the inner-workings on the man’s cranium than new video Ill Mind of Hopsin 5. With a self-produced, rock-edged beat pulsing in the background, Hopsin unleashes nearly five minutes of microphone fury, laying the blame for society and hip-hop’s ills both on the rappers that perpetuate lies and the unthinking public that consumes them. While Ill Mind 5 isn’t attached to a larger project (yet), with Hopsin’s name growing by the minute you can expect much more from him coming soon.

 I am not 100% sold yet on Hopsin, but that is only because I have not heard a complete body of work from him that really allowed me to understanding, or try to understand, his musical inner workings...

Yea, I always and still do respect DJ Booth and staff a great deal, but a 3 and 2 stars for this?!!!??! This is exactly what needed to be said 100% on point and it was delivered well too. This has gotta be hands down 5 stars.

I am truly dissapointed by Blaze and Z. Hopsin is such an amazing lyrical rapper. Anything lower then 3 stars and hip-hop will remian the way it is today trash. Nothing but money talk booty shaking. Props Hopsin for keeping your lyrics real and not rapping about money and hoes.

Lyrically exactly what the game needs! Disappointingly enough as usual with most thorough emcees the lack luster production diminishes the songs value! Not a Hopsin fan but it is what it is...

I haven't heard a rap song like this is ages. This is officially my favorite song.
Hopsin, I hope you blow up. You're a lyrical genius, you're far more intelligent than any rapper out here. The only rap-star that I can compare to Hopsin, lyrically, is Eminem. I'm not saying who's better, I'm just saying the? only rap-star I can compare to Hopsin, lyrically, is Eminem. I'm also dissapointed in Dj Z, and Dj Blaze. What the @*#$! do you mean this was "OK"? You talk about the flow and the beat, did you listen to the lyrics you dumb @*#$!? |

Firstly don't hate on Z and Blaze because their opinion is different to yours, I understand the direction they might be coming from, and even tho the track feels clunky (the timing of his delivery and the track are only slightly off but its enough to notice) at times i believe the message delivered is what builds this track, as for the beat i do love the eerie feeling it leaves. Hopsin has been a favorite of mine for a while now i loved RAW because it felt different, tho i didn't like Knock Madness (the single). This was a standout track for me.

z and blaze are just brainwashed with mainstream lyrics already. They could care less about the message hopsin just spit. and to hate on a song because the beat was average which in fact it wasnt. maybe hopsin was talking about them.
