Hollyweerd - Supa Eazy
Artist: Hollyweerd
Producer: Operation ADD
Album: Edible Phat 2.0
Label: Domino Efffect Dvlpmnt
Making good music is by no means a walk in the park but, well aware that an apparent lack of effort is one of the cornerstones of coolness, ATL foursome Hollyweerd have set out to make hip-hop look Supa Eazy on the first leak off their forthcoming, Booth-sponsored street album. Making its world premiere right here on our front page, this track finds Operation ADD cooking up a slow-rolling, Southern-fried instrumental as emcees Dreamer (previously heard as a solo artist on Crazy Girlz), The Love Crusader, Tuki and Stago Lee show off their finely-honed flows, delivering bars jam-packed with unpredictably-flowed, intricately-rhymed braggadocio. Have these A-Town natives succeeded in making mic-rocking seem like a piece of cake? I’ll leave that for you to decide. In any case, those digging this cut can find plenty more where this came from on the group’s Edible Phat 2.0 mixtape, scheduled to hit our front page on May 3.

Intro is super hot!
At first I thought the first verse was a little rushed, but by the time it was over I was able to appreciate the talent of the flow. It was a nice transition into the more relaxed second verse. The chemistry was obvious, the entire song worked extremely well, all of the components really blended nicely. Hollyweerd makes it seem Super Eazy on this one. |

Agreed, intro is tight! Either its my headphones or the quality (sound) of thier verses doesn't sound very good. Kinda got thatt U-N-I sound. Nice!

Even though everyone likes to claim that they make what they do look easy (when it's really not) this has a little something different about it.
Not a fan of the hook, but the verses are stellar. |

Immediately, I thought of Nappy Roots. A bit of Rick Ross at the beginning, and the verse feels like a slower Twista. Curve ball after another.
I'm not sure about the deep voice. I understand that the chorus acts as a nice break to the fast-paced rapping, but the song just loses steam. The funky guitar is money though. |

ok so we all know beat is killa ohh yeaaaaaa
watch out yall here they come in with their speedo flow and swagg frech lyrics they add soulja boy dumbed down flow with sped up twista lyrics i like the togetherness that brings. its the reefer song man, get high off this joint but its good shit. no doubt i can see how its getting 4 stars but its missing something for me, maybe a swith up in the beat because it gets boring after awhile and not ust for the chorus which is just tking out the synth guiter but so so super nice !! |

I believe it.. They do make it like pretty dang easy. I liked both verses, the beat was unexpected.. We've heard the sound before, but their twist to it is nice. "Ima weirdo. What are YOU dude?" Ha

Not really sure how I feel about this one. Whoever was on the first verse was pretty tight, but the second verse really let me down a little bit.
Production is okay. Not bad, but not really that good either. The one thing that really kind of annoyed me was the YEEEAAAA in the background of the hook. Song wasn't bad. It's not gonna be getting too much play time on my ipod though. 2.5 |

Really feelin the whole package on this one. Impressive flow paired with a nice hook and on point production is the right formula for a banger.

I liked the intro and the guy who did the first was sick, but that's probably because I liked his flow which is my preference. The Chorus is also pretty good too. I can't really say that much cuz I don't really know the lyrics to the song but overall this song is pretty dope.

I fell in love with this track within the first 5 seconds, only to find out she didn't have everything I was looking for. The second verse was a major buzzkill but the chorus and beat were fire. 3.5

This is an alright song with a good beat, but I don't think that I'd play it again. By the way I just noticed you changed the homepage, looks good.

Damn the first verse was FIRE...it seemed almost "Supa Eazy" for him haha...but yeah the intro was my favorite but thats not to hate on the other artists because they all did a great job. This production works really well and meshes with each rappers flow nicely. Even the screwed hook is a plus on this track. It's hard to find something negative...but for some reason it's still not a banger for me. I guess everything is jut good but not WOW.

Wow, that first verse made me sit up immediately and listen. Initially I was focused on the laid back production with the slick organ line, the spacy synth, and that money guitar that Sons of Ireland mentioned in their review. It's slower, but it still pulses with energy and creativity.
@RyanSX, I agree that the second verse was a bit of a buzzkill after the running start at the beginning, but the relaxed flow grew on me after a couple of listens. It actually fits better with my initial impression of the track. I don't really like the hook though. It feels a bit unfocused and lazy. Maybe because it's so slow and because of that low voice. I like the production and the verses. This track loses a star for the weak hook, but don't get me wrong. It sounds so fresh that it deserves the four star status. Give it a go. |

A-Yo! What's up with these similar sounding joints lately. Arrangement sounds like that U-N-I's "Land Of The King (Remix)", with just different production kit. I guess the word is southern-fried. Nothing distinctive about it but still a decent listen!

A brand new alternative southern rap group? count me in. This is definetely a banger, except the hook which seemed boring to me, but still whenever there is a alternative southern rap group you should expect somethin good(OutKast for example). BTW the production was fitting for the track, and the second dude was a bit wack.

Been listening to the group since 2007 and had an Edible Phat cd that was given to me at a Broke & Boujee event. That CD stayed with me all the way to KS in the summer of '07', it never left and everytime I came home I had my own piece of Atlanta there with me. No one knew who I was listening to but everyone liked it. The cool thing was that I could bump it anytime and it still sounded like it was the latest album released. The kind of music produced by the group is loved by all. Loved the song! These boys have never disappointed me!

This track has the Chops to Crank in any Club!! Watching these MC grow in to Men on the MIC has been a sight to behold. The Track overall plays on each of the members strengths. It's a perfect blend in my opinion to what the masses have been ingesting when it comes to the South. I'll say this to DJ's that are & aren't from the South... DON'T BE AFRAID to add this to Your MIX!! You'll be very surprised !!

I always enjoy a track that once it's played it again it gets better. There are songs out there they take you a few spins to eventually get me to like the track but with each new listen I found a another line to make me want to play it again. Just like a good short story worth reading over and over again Hollyweerd made it Supa Eazy to keep pressing play.

This group is pretty weeeerd. But this intro is really good. The verses are interesting and the flow is good. The chorus needs a lot of work, needs more words. It's a good song to roll to, and the beat by Operation ADD is tight.

Loving the beginning to this song, has a real old school vibe. I can tell already that the production on this track is going to be solid. Definitely a song I could ride to, has that sort of feel to it.
Verses are well done, nothing that I would classify as classic but definitely some good work. Really loving the third verse, easily the best out of the three. The chorus leaves something to be desired but is not that bad. Feel like with a better chorus it could have been a much better record. Overall it is something I could definitely bump in my ride but just falls short of being something special. |

Seriously Hott. I feel everything about this. That organ really does something for this song, not to mention the slick delivery. Like Goodie Mob, or Nappy Roots. Love It. Can't wait for it to be in rotation.

One of those songs you know what to expect from by the first seconds in... that south vibe is classic!
What I wasn't expecting though was really dynamic flows and interesting lyrics... was it really that easy?! ;) Tell us the truth guys! |

I love the country beat on here. It's like a combo of new and old south. Everyone sounds cool, i like that they all have different styles. The hook was nothing special, but fit the song fine. I can ride to this!
