If the dirty south is funky again this summer, it’s not going to be because of Gucci Mane’s new cologne coming out, “Freaky Gurl Fragrances.” (Just kidding, but admit it. I had you going for a sec.) ATL quartet Hollyweerd is stopping by the Booth to drop off another (yes another!) world premiere, this time with their new track Love Me, off their hotly anticipated, Don Cannon hosted Edible Phat 2.0. Just like on their debut Supa Eazy, producer Operation A.D.D. mans the boards with similar results, crafting a bouncing, spacey, strings-laden beat guaranteed to get your head nodding. Vocally the fearsome foursome, along with Little Brother’s Rapper Big Pooh, put listeners in a trance until the very end with velvety flows and witty lyrical content: “I don’t play dumb, I even pray for haters because they need redemption.” How generous. While Phat 2.0 has been delayed because of label negotiations, Hollyweerd promises it will still drop soon. How soon? You know where to keep it locked to for more info.

Say what you will about Hollyweerd, but I guarantee you that you'd be hard pressed to find very many acts with a similar sound and vibe.

Sig used the word "funky" to describe the new premiere and I wholeheartedly agree. For me the production is the standout feature here - many a rapper would sound good over the body nodding beat - but in the end there is a lot to like.

The violin-esque production was a big contributing factor to this track's success. Verses were real nice and Pooh was a nice addition. The sample could get old after a couple listens, but the hook was a nice addition regardless. "Love Me" is a great track. Don't sleep on this. 3.5

I almost passed over this one, but the title picture is sick. Props to whoever put that together. I really liked the vibe of this one. Great verses too

These gurs are just so weird to me, and I'll probably say that on everything with their name on here. Always have unique sounds. I think the production has a bit too much going on so I can;t focus on the verses. The sample isn't good and want a fast forward to get through it though. Solid rotation track. I enjoy it, just needs to be better.

This track is fire. That funky beat with the violin loop, damn. Then when the vocal sample comes in it puts it over the top. In fact, this ish gets a five for its creativity.

What's you expect, they do have the word "weerd" in their name. Personally, I've got nothing but love for this. That beat's dope, it exudes as real good times vibe, and the flows definitely do it justice. I'm gonna have this one on repeat all day.

The only reason I even clicked on this one was because of Big Pooh. But I'm glad I did because there's a lot to like about this track, the production by A.D.D. is crazy!

The beat goes hard. The flows are alright. Felt like Pooh sounded better.

The production on this is so funky! The violin laced beat is perfect for these lyrics. Chorus is really catchy and matches well. These guys always have creative unique tracks that I'm feeling! Really looking forward to their upcoming project.

The original production is ear pleasing to say the least, but the chorus is hard to hear and "Love Me" lacks an abundance of rewindable rhymes outside of Dreamer's 16.

Amidst the production is some lovely violin work, a pleasing and gripping female vocals loop, and some wonderful sounding drums. It could all get a bit kitchen-sinky but it's strung together magnificently and works ever so well. It ends kind of abrupt which was kinda odd. My only complaint with it. Impressive.

Summer time heat. Proves that Atlanta has more to offer than "trap rap." Best thing out of Atlanta since Outkast. Mark my words.
