Many would argue that New York isn’t necessarily ’where it all started,’ but rather where it was first recognized. That however is a discussion for another time, a time in which you aren’t listening to the new Hi-Tek produced masterpiece. The lyrical abilities of MCs such as Jadakiss, Talib Kweli and Papoose are first, second, and third to almost none (Unless Jay-Z and Rakim were on the cut, I’d change my statement). During a time in which the state of hip-hop on the east coast has been challenged, it’s safe to say there is ‘plenty to go around.’
