Sometimes, the best solution to a group’s troubles is to take time off. Lots of it. Heltah Skeltah, a Boot Camp Clik affiliate composed of rappers Ruck (Sean Price) and Rock (Da Rockness Monsta), hasn’t put out an album in over a decade. After they built up a sizeable underground following with their grimy debut, Nocturnal, critics panned their lighter follow up, Magnum Force, as a colossal sophomore slump. Everything Is Helta Skeltah is the lead single off their long-awaited third LP, D.I.R.T. (Da Incredible Rap Team), due September 30. Surprisingly, the two Brooklyn emcees’ rapport hasn’t faded in the slightest. They both mix street rhymes with playful disses, throwing heat at everybody from Jay Z to Macy Gray to Diddy. Producer Ill Mind contributes an appropriately gritty, piano-driven beat. If Everything Is Helta Skeltah is any indication, D.I.R.T. could be worth the wait.
thats some eerie humor....beat is cooky...its like humorous but serious reminds of pastor troy visa versa..but not as serious....mmm....wouldnt listen again tho...
Heltah Skeltah is either a group that falls in line with your rap likes, or you probably cannot stand their sound. This is the definition of music that is 'to each is own." Personally, their flair on the mic, energy and this sick production make it more than enjoyable. It's a fun record.
I like the beat a lot. The piano gives it a nice twist. I like the sounds of the verses too. It's not a super great track though. I'll throw it in rotation. It's pretty humorous.
This track is crazy the beat and lyrics is sick been a fan of boot camp click and heltah skeltah for a while glad to see there back and still on their game.
