Similar to fellow rapper Plies, long-time Dipset member Hell Rell is preparing for the release of his sophomore set, entitled Black Mask Black Gloves (The Ruga Edition), less than ten months after dropping his previous album. On the first (and possibly only) single, Get Ready, Ruger Rell lives up to his audience’s hardcore expectations by spitting lyrics like, ”Jason, Michael Myers, Freddy/f*ck them, I’m more scary.” Recognizing the importance of production within East Coast gangsta rap, A.RAAB Muzik (of Duke Productions) does the next-to-impossible by utilizing a Temptations sample (from their hit of the same name) on this dark beat. For more street bangers, Black Mask Black Gloves (The Ruga Edition) drops on July 22 via Diplomat/Babygrande.
Man, A.RAAB Muzik flipped that sample mad ill! The production is hell rella nice. Also, Hell Rell didn't do bad on this at all. Matched up with this production, I think this might be the best track he's ever done. I'm not saying I'd cop his sophomore album, but I'll through this in rotation. He was mad focused on this one and props again to A.RAAB for this mad dope production.
I agree MH, the production on this single is REAL HARD! I am not quite sure how it could be 'too hard' -- because what is the point of going that route if you don't go all the way -- but the end product is a winner. Hell Rell is mad slept on outside of NY. Wake up, Yo!
The production is hot for the streets. The melody is a little similar to Ice Cube's "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It." Hell Rell's lyrical ability isn't something to die over, but he delivers in the end.
Too Hard...ummm...k We'll I don't agree but he can say it, y not? lol Anyway this cool, nothin too serious. The beat is good, not as sick as some say, the piano is kinda annoying here, then again I said the same about "Still Dre" when I first heared it. Hell Rell does in deed bring it here. I'm not big on Dip Set so I can't say its better than his past work cause I'm not familiar. 3 starz
This song is fire..However, for who? Alot of things have changed, streets have changed..He's still rapping on that late 90's, early 2000's energy...rapping for people on they way to jail and gone do the same shit when they get out...Go Hell Rell!
