hasHBrown - Break The Chain
Artist: hasHBrown
Featuring: Guilty Simpson
Producer: Jett I. Masstyr
Album: Break Something
Label: Council Music Group, LLC
In a rap game that sometimes seems obsessed with sex, money and luxury goods, hasHBrown is determined to spread a very different message through his music. On the second single off his forthcoming full-length, the Houston emcee urges listeners to Break the Chains of ignorance and materialism. Joining the headliner over Jett I. Masstyr‘s sampled boardwork, Stone’s Throw affiliate Guilty Simpson delivers an insightful guest verse. Watch for hasHBrown’s next album, Break Something to hit store shelves and online retailers November 30.

The beat is decent on this track. The flows are decent too. I'll give it a few spins. Nothing really stands out to me.

The subtle bRilliance is that makes this song good. I prefer emcees that speak with substance. The beat has that emotion in it. A sense of urgency. The same urgency needed to bring back the balance of hiphop and dispell the myth that southern emcees arent intelligent, thoughtful, informative, and inspirational.
