Gucci Mane - Never Too Much (Remix) ft. Various Artists
Artist: Gucci Mane
Featuring: Three 6 Mafia , OJ Da Juiceman , Project Pat , Yung Joc
Producer: Drumma Boy
Album: Drumma Boy Presents: Welcome II My City Mixtape
Label: 1017 Brick Squad/Warner Bros.
This past Sunday, Drumma Boy dropped Welcome II My City, a mixtape that, in addition to introducing the industry to the roster of his new Drum Squad label, marked the superproducer’s debut as a rapper. This cut, however, finds Drumma sticking with what he’s best known for. On the official remix of Gucci Mane‘s Never Too Much, Drumma demonstrates his talent for pairing big names with their sidekicks, enlisting the services of Three 6 Mafia & Project Pat, Gucci & OJ Da Juiceman, and Yung Joc & ...nobody else (Gorilla Zoe likely had other obligations). It’s not often that a brief “beat-bridge” becomes the highlight of a record, yet Drumma Boy’s old-school sample of Luther Vandross’ classic of the same name is inarguably a standout moment (is there something in Memphis’ water that breeds interpolation skill?). If any listeners walk away from the mixtape thinking that he (like many other producer/rappers) should stick to the boards, they’ll undoubtedly cite Never Too Much (Remix) as a case in point.

Gucci is on his grind lately, he’s like the Lil Wayne of 2009 so far! (insert complaints here) All jokes aside, I’m seeing some improvement in him. Or maybe it’s just the hot production/guest spot from Three 6 that carry the track. Overall, enjoyable listen, but sounds like it could have just been a Three 6 track itself. Gucci didn’t really add and ingredients to the pot, or help stir it for that matter.

I've been seeing a lot of Gucci lately; not that that's a good thing. Gucci, in general, is toe-to-toe with Shawty Lo for the least talented artist out right now. He's a classic case of quantity with no quality. Three 6 save this track from garbage; Yung Joc is solid as well. I still don't see the hype over OJ thought.

Not impressed in the least by this track. Gucci has been doing his thing to keep his self relevant in the rap game, which is a good thing, but when the tracks start sounding like this its back to the drawing boards. Even though I am very much a true hip-hop fan, Im a music fan overall, and I'm from the Florida so do keep southern rappers in heavy rotation, but this just doesnt cut it. Worn out subject, and a variety of over hyped rappers.

I agree with Phantom (DJ J). I've been seein a lot of Gucci Mane and OJ these days, and I rarely like any of their features. Three 6, Project Pat, and Joc were nice but this song is only a 2.

ah man, almost a 3. that chorus ruined it tho. it jus had to be bout MONEY didnt it. there was good production and some decent verses, but that "never too much MONEY" held it back.

Another week & just another weak feat from Gucci/OJ ...
Dont give a damn what they are sayin ... & other rappers just seem to ride along without saying anything major ... terrible waste of a potential prod ... OK |

First, let me say that I am not (and never have been) a huge fan of Trap Music. Just isn't my thing. No ill will towards artists who produce that type of music, I just don't go out of my way to listen to it. With that said... this is HOT. All the artists (OJ withstanding - this man has very little talent) come with it and the Drumma Boy production is catchy as usual.
... that sample gets me every time. |

The beginning was madd hot but then I got scared cause of what they did to the beat lol....but then it got good again....haha I like this....I can't really hate on Gucci or Yung Joc.- or actually anybody else.
I think it's a 4.5 but I'm going to rate d O W N to a 4. lol. but yeah I DO like this I'm not gonna lie:]] you can bang this 4sure. |

I wish Drumma Boy would only produce for Young Jeezy. Every freestyle Ive heard Jeezy rap over a Drumma Boy beat it has been a banger (at least).
To this track, I think the production was some what wasted, but It was still solid enough. Gucci has definitely been on his grind this year & this is probably the best track Ive heard from him. |

Gucci and OJ are mos def on his grizzle this year. And with the 901's Three 6, Project Pat and Drumma Boy its def a good look for Memphis. I know Ill hear these getting bumped through the streets

Dunno why I just thought of this, but can we have a 'most whack mainstream rapper' category in this years best of the booth vote?
Im shore OJ & Gucci would be up there in the voting (Shawty Lo's my pick) |

We'll..I like it..This definely a banger..I like how Drumma Boy brought it back 2 his comfort zone with the production..The pop beatz that he make shows that he is versitile, but I think that I like the production most fans r used 2 better.( White Girl, Put on, (Half Of Rocko's Whole album,LOl..),etc.)

There arent many rappers that i dont like to listen to, but OJ and Gucci make the list of rappers i hate. Drumma boy's beat is dope, and Three 6 is on point. This would be a hot song if they took off Gucci, OJ, and Joc. But its OK and i think its a generous rating

Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman have been killing it recently. They bring a unique flow that just sucks you in and gets you bumpin. Despite only OK lyrical value, the music bumps.

It's a shame that so many people dislike trap music because all hip-hop doesn't have to be lyrical and top-notch. Gucci is like the king of the trap and this joint is a trap banger! Juicy J was my favorite on the track. Also liked Project "Patta" and OJ ('s flow). Chorus could've been done better but nonetheless it's catchy. Drumma Boy is always fire on the boards.

Royalty of NY: How can you say that you have respect for everyone while at the same time you're saying "kick this girl off she don't know good music." To me, this is good music and I don't care if somebody else doesn't like it.period. And my little opinion gets your blood boiling??- if that does the trick your life probably sucks because you're probably pissed off all the time.....

Throw the hopes for lyrical content out the window. The beat is a banger with 3-6, Pat and Joc coming correct. OJ and Gucci tried to destroy it like they've done almost every song they were on, but it still knocks.

It's the type of song that is easy to dance to, the production is catchy and simple, and their flows are smooth! but I don't see anything fresh here, not a big fan of this type of songs...in rotation

I dont know if Gucci Mane could have found 4 better rappers with less original or more elementary flows to compliment his. The best rapper on here is Joc, who always finds a way to sound decent despite his elementary flow. The production is OK, but the track is not really worth listenin to.
